Interesting shout. I'd have Woodburn ahead of him though.

The swelling was still bad, and they could not scan properly.

It could just be badly twisted, but knowing our luck its serious and he is out the rest of the season. :-(

He has to have knee surgery.

Likely out for rest of the season.

Torn meniscus, surgery and 8 weeks out. Or in our language - rest of the season.

Bad news this, but could be a chance for someone to step up such as Woodburn or Origi getting a more regular spot?

Bollocks! Must admit I thought it was his ankle when it first happened, haven't seen it a second time but when he walked out of Anfield without crutches I thought it would be minor.

Devastating news for him and us, get well soon Sadio.

This is frustrating - losing our player of the season for the final matches. Get well soon Sadio, hopefully to play the Champions League next season.

I tore my meniscus awhile back, likely not as bad as his though. I had to get a shot and have fluid drained and I was back to normal (or so I thought) in about a week. Since then it's a day to day issue managing the pain/discomfort. Would be hard to play football with that injury I can assure you, I'm just trying to be able to keep running so I don't get any fatter and it's a struggle some days. Glad it isn't his ACL, but I've heard that a torn meniscus can be a problem down the road, they don't ever really heal, and surgery can supposedly cause it to become arthritic faster down the road.

Keep in mind though, I'm no professional athlete and likely there's things that can be done to make sure his playing career continues on hopefully unaffected for the most part (after recovery).  The arthritis issue would be later in life. I'm 41, so he's got some time ;D

To be fair, the consultant said it was an old injury, and I never really knew about it.
Apparently I'd damaged the cartilage as well, probably around the same time.
Then when I started training with the intention of eventually doing a marathon, it all came home to roost, mostly because I'm heavy and was putting a lot of strain on a joint that was already fu**ed.
The worst thing is my golf swing is still fu**ed, because rotation is wrong.
