I'm much happier with the way we have played and created chances this half.

Agreed, we look like we can unlock their defence much easier. I think all of Kent, Woodburn, Ings have had a massive influence, a lot more speed to our play.

Kent deserves a goal. 3 assists so far in the past 2 games.

He's done very, very well. Looks ready for the step up.

I guess fairly happy with that, 2 goals and a clean sheet against decentish opposition.

      Yep very pleased with that.

Ings looks like he's come back every bit, if not better than he was before, massive credit to him for that. It's an awful injury to return from and you always worry something will have been lost but no, well in Ingsy!

Kent again looks a danger to the opposition and always looking to and most of the time beating his man. Improve his decision making and he'll replace Ibe relatively easily imo.

Woodburn: I know people will say let's not get carried away, the spotlight is now firmly on him. 16 years old doing what he's doing, absolutely outstanding, well in young fella!!

I liked what I saw both halves to be honest, we had much more control in the first half but less penetration. In the second we looked much more dangerous but were more open going the other way. Only one chance given away to Wigan really although I will say I thought their left-back looked a decent player.

Very good 3 preseason games, well in fellas, massive encouragement.

What a lovely conundrum Jürgen has with these young lads playing like they are.

I know he won't rush any of them, we've no need to put any pressure on them at this stage and although we won't have enough games to rotate them in and out I think those who have shown their capabilities will get enough to keep them interested.

Some standouts today, Ejaria, Kent and Woodburn again, Matip really upped his game 2nd half too, not defensively but bringing the ball out of defense.  Ilori did well, as did Brannagan and Karius despite his dodgy moment, still patrolled the edge of his box well and got the play going again quickly.

Similar pattern to the last game. Much more penetration and chances created with the young lads. Probably because the more experienced players are looking for fitness while the young lads are looking to make a point and catch Jürgen's eye.

Is exactly right mate.  This is what is meant by taking your chances when they're presented to you.

Well done to Woodburn, Kent, Brannagan, Matip and Ejaria.

Karius was too comfortable but Klopp will sort that out. He picked up the few crosses with little effort. Good sight after some pushing-air from Mignolet :D

Talking sense there is Steven about the loan options for the young lads.

And great to hear Jürgen playing it cool with them too.

I thought so too mate.  I like how he plays down the talent by refusing to be drawn into if they're ready to play but at the same time as praising it.

Pretty solid game for us. It could be four goals easily (two Cou's woodwork comes to mind). Pressing in the first half was better, Wigan hardly could step at our half of the pitch. Coutinho looks very sharp for his first preseason game. Also, the movement without a ball was decent, guys which pressed and guys which moved into space complement each other well. Front line of Firmino, Coutinho Mane and Ings could be real lethal next season.

It's hard to admit, but Marković was so disappointing, I didn't see genuine effort from him to do something useful despite the assist.

Are we seeing Jurgens philosophy of hard work and teamwork yet ?. If Jürgen is happy then he must be content with the progress.

How did we do? Had to switch off my stream as it was lagging badly but we looked to be controlling the game albeit at a very leisurely pace. Still another good run out, a couple of goals and a clean sheet. Can we read anything into these clean sheets? Are they indicative of a stronger understanding and more solid shape with Karius, Matip and Lovren?

Not reading anything into the clean sheets so far mate. The opposition haven't been good enough to really test us defensively yet. Good for confidence though and Karius has dealt with what little he has had to do well enough.
