Maybe he did get improved terms but still didn't satisfy his wants that doesn't make the owners wrong
The issue was length of contract over money from everything we have heard and then the offer went and thatās what Gini has said people will know etc soon
Personally I donāt think the money was the driver for Gini, he could had he wanted to have demanded a new contract at numerous point over the last 5 years, his stock being very high post the CL win for example, he just seemed happy and thought it would come
What I think changed is the club made a decision on essentially 3 players
Hendo
Thiago
Gini
Once we had signed Thiago it 100% weakened Ginis chance of a ālongerā contract as if we had offered that we would have had 3 midfielders around the 33-34 mark by the time those contracts are at their peak
And if you look at it coldly, Hendo is skipper and vital to the squad, Thiago is new
Unfortunately for Gini he is the one to be lost in all that
Heās been great, I love the bloke but itās simple circumstances and I wish him all the best and hope he cashes in
