I think a lot of us can be guilty of thinking that when it's going good it is actually better than it actually is.
Seen and heard a few people saying that, as it stands, we have the squad that can win this league.
Fresh blood can unsettle what at the moment is a good squad - if it ain't broke then don't try to fix it. I understand that train of thought a little.
Sadio Mane, who is very important to our interchanging offence and high pressing defence, is off to the African Cup of Nations in January.
Danny Ings who a lot of people think is suited to a Klopp side and also thought would come in before Sturridge once fully fit, if required, is out for the season.
I also worry about an injury to Hendo as his replacement is Can who I think is still a very rough diamond and inconsistent. Or Lucas who, although I think is a great replacement for the odd game here and there, is not a player I think could come in and be enough over the course of ten or so games in a side with title winning aspirations.
I didn't get Wijnaldum at first but him missing a couple of games were probably the best games he'd played for us in my eyes as it was then clearer for me to see how important he is.
If Coutinho gets injured is his replacement going to give us what we need when taking into account Mane being unavailable? By that I mean if you take those two out what happens to the quality up there and how much will it change?
If you go through our typical first choice eleven, especially the midfield and front threes and take into account the Mane absence, Ings injury and Sturridge 'situation' whilst looking at the quality of replacement to any future injuries then, like me, you may be hoping for a solid couple of signings come January.
The point is to discuss how important or unimportant signings in January could be to our title/top four hopes and why or why not signings in January are important or unimportant
