There's nothing wrong with a proper No.9 mate ie one who scores lots of goals, put's themselves about, causes defences nightmares, pressures them into making mistakes and creates openings for those goal thingys to be scored.
That's the type of No.9 we need, a Suarez lite, not another Benteke/Carrol.
If he's the Suarez type, F***ing fantastic, sign him, otherwise what's the point!!
I agree, but are we going to bother testing the market either this window or probably more importantly, next?
When Ings is back fit are we just going to settle for that lineup and put the hard working, goal shy Firmino back up front?
Been tearing my hair out at the forward play we've had to endure from Origi and Firmino of late, plus the unpleasant bonus of Sturridge being unable to assert his presence on games.
Seems to me specialist positions on the pitch, where there is a lack of credible candidates and the price for those candidates has therefore rocketed up, IE Full backs, Strikers and to an extent goalkeepers have seen the club look to solve the problem in different ways.
We've put Milner at left back rather than shelling out for a specialist, and put 3 10-15 goal a season players in Firmino, Coutinho and Mane rather than competing with the big boys for those expensive strikers or gambling on somebody unproven.
People can scoff at Giroud if they want to but his link up play is a real bonus for Arsenal but more importantly he has got them goals in games where their vast array of fast and creative types have failed.
