16:33, 16 NOV 2016 UPDATED 16:33, 16 NOV 2016Liverpool will celebrate their 125th anniversary next year and Hertha Berlin want to join the party.
The Bundesliga outfit reach the same milestone in 2017 and they are hoping that Jürgen Klopp will mark it by agreeing to play friendly matches both home and away.
Hertha BSC want to entertain Liverpool at the Olympiastadion next July followed by a return match at Anfield.
Klopp is friends with Hertha’s general manager Michael Preetz and last summer the Reds boss agreed to send young Brazilian midfielder Allan Rodrigues de Souza there on a season-long loan.
Liverpool would need to schedule the matches against Hertha around any pre-season tour commitments. Having visited America this year, the Reds are likely to head for Asia and possibly Australia too in 2017.
The side's have met in three previous pre-season friendlies, in 1973, 1994 and 2008, all played in Berlin. Rafa Benitez took his team there mist recently for a 0-0 draw.

We usually have a friendly at Anfield before the season starts anyway don't we? Maybe this could be the one for next summer after playing the 1st leg in Germany?
