No need to fear United at any point. They should be fearing US.
I think Jürgen will continue to prioritize the league, and so when we have these midweek ties, you'll see him continue to rest at least some of the first choice XI. It's part of the great squad chemistry he has built for these players to know he will trust them on big occasions.
But this Sunday will be one of the few times we will have players starting in three matches over 7-8 days - and that largely because of injuries to Lallana, Phil and Sturridge. Being able to rotate on the occasions when we have a midweek match will continue to be an important part of our success this season.
I expect rotated squad for the Dec. 14 match vs. Middlesbrough (midweek) and the Jan. 2 match vs. Sunderland (48 hours after Man City) as well.
We'll have an FA Cup 3rd round match just a few days (Jan 7 or
before the first leg against Southampton (Jan 10 or 11), so the draw may help determine which group Jürgen puts out for which match, then of course our strongest group back for Man United in the league on Jan. 15.
