No idea why Jürgen doesn't love Daniel. He should have played or was he injured?

We have another game in 40 hours. He'll be playing 90 mins in that

No idea. Sturridge is far more dangerous than Origi, moreover he has the "it" of making something out of nothing. IMO Daniel is in Jürgens doghouse of his real doghouse (where Sakho sits in and where Benteke sat in).

@vick: Of course your explanation is far less entertaining & drama but maybe far more true^^.

What a game, what a performance, what a great atmosphere at Anfield! I F***ing love Wijnaldum and I'm so glad he got to score the winning goal as well. Such a classy player, absolutely key to us keeping the ball and attacking the opposition at lightning pace. He was always getting into the right positions as well, it was a matter of time until he scored again.

Had a boss time with my wife at Anfield for her first game and, funnily enough, her favourite LFC player was James Milner - or the "número sete" as she calls him.

Happy new year, my friends! Up the reds!

I knew they would make it difficult for us and they did.. but we got the winner and what a header that was.. haven't seen one like that in a red shirt for a long while.. bullet header..

and more importantly WE WON !!!... 3 points in the bag...

Happy New Year everyone... stay cool and be safe...

It was a strange game today, somewhat schizophrenic in our approach. Our passing was dreadful and from a passing/attacking perspective, I thought this was Firmino's worst game in a Red shirt. With the exceptions of Lallana and Wijnaldum, we gave the ball away far too cheaply. That being said, from a team perspective, as a collective unit of eleven players our defending was excellent and the first half after a goal was an absolute masterclass in how to shut down a team. Who says we can't defend? Momentum is with us, we just have to carry it through to 2017, long enough to beat Chelsea at the end of Jan and go on to lift the Title in May ;)

Voted Wijnaldum for MOTM but Lallana was a very close second.

Had to pick MOTM between Gini, Adam and Klavan.

Gave it to Ragnar, thought he had an amazing game but still thinking both Gini and Adam deserve it too, they both had a great game.

I'd sign that numero sete, sounds a class Brazilian player ;)

Great to hear that both you and the wife are settling in and enjoying the games :)

Voted Gini MOTM.  His well to med run, powerful leap, and precision finish was the only moment of true quality in the game.  He also played fairly well throughout aside from a handful of misplaced passes, but it was a hectic match and many others guilty as well.

Agree with Luke -- Lallana looks the best player in the Premier at the moment.  He is combining technique, trickery, vision, and industry to sheer perfection!!

Sadly, I think Mane is only half a step behind Lallana and we are desperately going to miss him in January.  I know we have Coutinho coming back and Studge is approaching full fitness again, but there's not another player in the league that can match the skill set and athletic ability that Sadio gives us.  Just pray he doesn't get injured on AFCON duty as we need him fit for the title race.

Special mention for Milner and Migs.  James has been top notch all season and could well be the best LB in the league.  Migs has been solid between the sticks and our whole back line seems more confident with him back in the side.

Happy New Year all!!  I'm off to have a few bevvies   :food-smiley-005:

Made up! Been asking for us to take a lead then learn to shut the game down for a while.

We need to win these big games and we need to get the 1-0s.

We looked untroubled for most of the game and if for a little more care taken we could have killed them off on the counter.

Enjoy tonight, but in a day and a half we need to get the win to consolidate our position in the table.

      Happy new year!!
