I know he’s 30 soon but this isn’t 1986 and he drinks 15 pints a night, he’s fit a f**k and will play at the highest level for the next 4-5 years without doubt. He’s never injured, he’s a machine and he’s vital to us

So I don’t care, if he leaves it would be a massive failing by FSG

But if he does go because his wage demands are too high then i won’t blame the club for it - at some point a player can’t demand too much money from a club.

Would not be surprised to hear the contract announcement soon, before AFCON.

Salah's the one who's been a bit of a squeaky wheel compared to the rest of the squad. He put it out there he wasn't happy that game someone else (Trent?) got the captaincy ahead of him, and not too long ago said something along the lines of "you never know what will happen" when asked about playing in Spain in the future. It will be interesting to see how these negotiations pan out, but given that, chances are they will be made more public than what we saw with other players who upped in the summer.

That's correct but isn't this a ball drop from Klopp? I would have given the armband tonight. Why give it to Allisson? Salah is skipper of Egypt, he's our best attacking player and i think from those comments previously he feels he should be somewhere in the pecking order for the Skipper role when the other 3 lads aren't in the side. It strikes me that it would be good management to give him the occasional opportunity to wear the armband given he is our most talented player and there is a very real possibility we could lose him.

Unusual for strikers to be captains anyway, players and managers prefer it to be players that see more of the game, i.e. defenders & midfielders. Also the guys that are more vocal in the dressing room.

Not sure they're the best captains around though... Good players, yes. But captains? Meh.
A few England players have said that whilst Kane is the captain, Hendo is the de facto leader of the group.

FSG should get Mo Salah's contract sorted, do not want to lose such a prolific player especially the goal scoring form he has shown this season !
