They way they handle transfers is a joke, they paid €26.5m to Neymar's father and €8.5m to Neymar as a bonus last year to sing a contract extension and now they're suing them to try to get the money back, and I read that a similar deal was offered to Messi and his father to get him to sing an extension. I believe they did something like that to get Neymar from Santos too.

Edit: they also bought Semedo for €30.5m and Deulofeo for €12.5m so that's a total of €187.5m in transfers so far.

I think it's fair to say that Barca are running just to stand still while RM pull away from them, and (more worrying for Barca fans) others catch up.
