They've paid 97m up front.. they'll still see they have plenty to get him still.

They also bought Paulinho for ā‚¬40m so they have spent ā‚¬145m (not considering add ons) so they have ā‚¬77m (or about Ā£71m according to good 'ol Google), so I don't think they can afford him now.

I reckon if they need it they'll find the extra money beyond the Neymar money

That's just the Neymar money....you don't think they might have had a few more euros to spend on top of that?

Maybe but I think it was reported that they didn't have a lot of money for transfers before Neymar left.

They way they handle transfers is a joke, they paid ā‚¬26.5m to Neymar's father and ā‚¬8.5m to Neymar as a bonus last year to sing a contract extension and now they're suing them to try to get the money back, and I read that a similar deal was offered to Messi and his father to get him to sing an extension. I believe they did something like that to get Neymar from Santos too.

Edit: they also bought Semedo for ā‚¬30.5m and Deulofeo for ā‚¬12.5m so that's a total of ā‚¬187.5m in transfers so far.

I think it's fair to say that Barca are running just to stand still while RM pull away from them, and (more worrying for Barca fans) others catch up.

Dembele to barca done then ... 105m euros rising to almost 150m.

When you think they bought that spurs reject for 40m and they want di maria as well its not looking too good for Phil is it???

Phillipe will be climbing the walls now i assume.

Time to get back to work.

To be fair, he doesn't have much choice but to go if called up, then the Brazil medics make a decision on him.
I'm pretty sure that's in the rules, to stop clubs doing a Scholes for matches.

It will be interesting to hear what he says though.

Media have no access to players in the Brazilian nt. Only if CBF(Brazilian FA) send them to press conferences, but i doubt reporters will manage to interview Coutinho.
And of course he's not injured.

The latest outpouring from his camp has totally p***ed me off, so he's in a very low mood, he should try standing in our shoes. He could have scuppered our chances of getting to the Champions League group stages, thankfully we do have players who actually give a sh*t! Ā£140,000 plus a week and he's feeling low, lost any remaining respect I had left for him.

      I'd tell him thats fine.

He can play in the league games and watch his ex-mates play in the big competition.

I'd register him anyway so he's cup tied and then not play him. See how that helps his world cup chances.

True mate, but some of the comments have been a bit OTT in my opinion.

Then we get the crowd that still pine for Suarez after he behaved a lot worse than this, doing a lot of the name calling, and I just can't get my head around that level of cognitive dissonance.
