What a cracking debut for Robertson yesterday. Just plug him into the starting line up please Jürgen! Obviously there will be much bigger tests for a defensive point of view but everything he did going forwards was excellent. Has to play on Wednesday night. I would actually argue it would be lunacy to pick. Moreno ahead of him.
What I liked:
- He delivered umpteen delicious crosses, 3 or 4 absolute peaches. (And he actually beat the first man)
- He delivered the ball early, usually on his 2nd or 3rd touch
- He didn't just bomb on every time there was an overlap opportunity leaving us completely screwed should we lose the ball. Moreno does this repeatedly no matter the score or time played like a clueless idiot. Milner is also guilty of getting too high up the pitch too early. Our shape (with and without the ball) was better as a result.
- Quite often he simply supported his wide player and provided an option to check back and then it was first touch out of his feet, 2nd touch a decent cross.
- He also made some nice runs inside so we had some variety in our two on ones, I really liked it.
- We didn't see it yesterday but he takes a decent free kick and corner. I'd let him take corners on the right and TAA should have them on the right.
On the basis of yesterday £8 million looks an absolute bargain.
