He has been brilliant.
Honest question, as you are a big fan of Robertson: did you think, at the start of the season, that he had these kind of performances in his locker this soon at the biggest stage of club football? He has been rock solid defensively. Quite the development he has gone through this season. No problem at all with him starting anymore. I hold my hands up! Thought he looked decent, but in no way did I think he'd be this good this soon.
Still think that in certain situations he tries to play it long too quickly rather than trying to play it out from the back, but that's a very minor criticism.
Yes and no Danzel is the honest answer.
I had no fear regarding his ability, reading of the game, pace and delivery.
I know Scotland are not at the level of your countrymen but I have watched him effectively play-make from fullback at international level the last three years or so. No mean feat.....
That said - being totally candid - this time last year I was advocating putting serious money down for Tierney from Celtic. He’s also a stellar talent - maybe a bit rawer and more power but a bit less finesse.
On reflection that was because I’d been to Parkhead with my older boy more last season and watched him run riot in a dominant Celtic side - whereas Robbo had been playing in a desperate Hull side (albeit at a higher level).
Typical Scotland - two class operatives in the same position.
I’m delighted we got Andy - he’s a perfect fit both in a footballing and social sense for LFC.
Hope that makes sense mate.
