He has been called for the upcoming international friendlies.
Strange situation! Not sure if it is a bit like the Sakho situation when Jürgen put his foot down to establish values even when we were struggling in that particular area in on the pitch.
Klopp on Naby's latest injury: “Out of nothing, Naby fell out [of the squad], crazy.”
Source:
https://www.thisisanfield.com/2022/08/naby-keita-suffers-crazy-injury-out-of-nothing-return-date-unclear/We don't have any concrete evidence that points to Naby acting injured or being content with getting a paycheque while sitting at home, but that comment from the manager a few weeks back points to frustration, in my opinion.
Unlike social media geniuses I have 0 animosity towards him and don't wish to shower him with insults and ''get out of our club'' messages because quite frankly this is stupid and classless. With that said, I don't want him in the team anymore. It is incredibly frustrating to see a player offer next to nothing in the span of what, 3 seasons now? I exhausted numerous pages of this very topic defending him and what he brings when fit and in form, but for one reason or the other, the man is always injured and unlike Thiago, once back from injury, it takes him a run of games to start showing anything on the pitch.
Just sell him in the next window and replace him then and there if possible. If a replacement is not possible, still get what you can by selling him in January. I'm saying this now, in the midst of the worst start to a season we've seen in years, but I will maintain this opinion even if by January we are in a very different situation. Finally, I would like to ask, why is the club even considering renewing him? There's absolutely no reason whatsoever for us to commit ourself to a player who missed this many games since signing. It would be pure folly to give him even a one year extension.
