A further observation.

Because we are so camped in their half, our defenders are in their half and it is they who are controlling the game.

The ball is continually cycled back to Matip and Klavan and they then determine where the ball will flow. Naturally they lack creativity. It gets slowed down, and only picks up when the likes of Salah get hold of it.

Problem is the massive gap between the front 3 and the mid 3.

Milner and Can really are the most uncreative midfield duo we have. Stick them both on the bench and bring on someone else...anybody else.

They've closed all the spaces we exploited last game by playing that back 5.

Honestly don't get why Klopp didn't bring on Solanke / Sturridge when Wijnaldum had to go off injured. Drop Chamberlain deeper, he has the pace and quick passing to set up one two's and make runs into the box.

Have Firmino play likes he's doing now, but offer him someone to play off on top.

How anyone can single out the striker in this set-up as the problem amuses me greatly.

Our midfield has to impose themselves so much more, they're the ones that are given time on the ball and plenty of supply. What has any of them done so far, bloody nothing.

Trent has been the most creative force, after that then Salah and Firmino, basically ignoring our midfield, they're bloody useless so far. Can has made maybe one run forward into the box the whole game and almost all their work is being done in front of Maribor and they're happy with that. Not one of them are capable of truly beating a man, running around him yes, but beating him, not a chance. We miss Coutinho/Lallana so much in this set-up that we're left with little choice than to bring either Salah or Firmino back into midfield imo.

Probably a little of all three, but th3 biggest problem is lack of pace and runs into the box. Our front players seem happy to stay glued to their defenders. Come on let’s move up a couple of gears, move some more players amongst their back 9 !

We have so much space out wide, I am wondering whether Hendo should drop deeper and then have our full backs look to make runs behind instead of waiting to receive the ball in a deeper wide area... oh wait, we don't have a DLPM!!

Yeah I know we have 3 up but they move come back in narrowing the pitch
As for the prob between mid and attack we have the mid 3 plus the 2 wingbacks as they seem to be playing? So stretch them wide

Not able to watch, sounds like we have a lot of the ball, as per.
Hopefully they grab a goal or two early in the 2nd and give some subs a decent run.
