I think Klopp is adding extra runners to break the lines this season.
By that I mean players capable of and comfortable with carrying the ball forwards from midfield, to create space for the front 3.
We've seen Lallana do it in the past, but it's not his best attribute.
We saw Ox do it last season very effectively.
We saw Can do it pretty well.
However, in Keita, Klopp has added another dimension, which is his ability to win the ball back and transition very quickly into opposition territory, either by passing or by running with the ball, and creating space for others to exploit.
I haven't seen much of Fabinho, but if he is converted from a RB, then he should also be capable of it.
Henderson is capable of it, but as the deepest midfielder in recent seasons, has had limited opportunities.
So we now have 2 possibly 3 strong midfield runners, meaning that 2 banks of 4 or 451 or whatever, closely packed is less of an option for bus parkers, because they will have to come out or risk being pressed back further and further.
Add our front 3 to this, and the way they use movement, speed and guile to create space, and I think we'll have a few more goals from midfield this season.
The capture of Alisson, who apparently we had been talking to for months, with his nifty footwork and accurate passing both long and short, shows one of Klopp's long term tactics, and that is to spend most of our time in the opposition half, continuing to press and win the ball higher up more effectively, and the use of strong runners to stretch play, and create space.
That's before we even mention the fullbacks
If the new lads gel quickly, this could be an excellent season.
