Just to try and keep a sense of proportion how far on are Napoli in their preparations (given that Seria A kicks off a week later than the Prem) and in Prem terms how would we rate them?

I’m half tempted to say we should go with Sturridge ahead of Bobby for the West Ham game...depending how Torino goes. He’s played himself into real contention this summer, been impressive.

Play them both, with Daniel as the attacking mid. He was pulling strings toward the end of the match.

Napoli did not look great, I'll grant you. But we looked very, very, very good.

We can beat anyone. We don't always do it, but we can beat anyone. Now let's add a bit more consistency and win some trophies. Very fun to watch this tonight.

Seeing the players and Jürgen spending time with the Fans is just the perfect end to today and it looks so natural to them no primadonna's here .

How did Alison do on the passing numbers he must have touched the ball and completed more passed than our midfielders.
Very impressed by his distribution and composure along with Virgil these two are not going to be flapping under any circumstances

Moreno being Moreno scores an absolute blinder and the 1 minute later complete misses a tackle and give a free kick away.

Couple of sketchy moments with diagonal balls into the box.

Yeah, noticed that.  Wouldn't say it was a 'solid' performance but he didn't have a lot to do really.

Really enjoyed that game.  Excited for the season ahead.  Be amazed if we don't collect more points than last season and really pleased how it's gone for Daniel Sturridge in pre-season.

I've been bitten enough times by false hopes for him so won't say anything else on that.

Shaqiri and Fabinho a couple of the options off the bench in this game as well - not bad at all.

Great to see Gomez and Clyne not only back involved after injuries but looking very good as well.  The only question remains - when does the Liverpool captain get a game? ;)  Bring the season on boys and girls.

Well, he doesn't score so much. Suitable backup for Robbo.

It really is striking how much more seriously and intense our pre seasons are since Klopp arrived, to the point where we arrive in our first game in tip top condition. I've remembered some pretty wretched pre seasons (even under Rafa - 2006 was particularly bad I recall -losing to Grasshopper Zurich and the likes...and a 5-0 thrashing to Jürgen's Mainz) where we've never really looked prepared but this one has been good. You can never take much out of pre season and say it's been 'amazing' because different teams are at different stages it's hardly a marker of competitiveness but at the very least it can indicate a level of preparation and I think we can all say with confidence that we're prepared for this new season?

Agreed. However,  I just think of champ man back in the day and good pre-season usually meant a sh*te season ha ha

If he follows a pattern of scoring a goal and then making a defensive blunder.. I can cope with that.

      We have Allison now. 😁

Rather move Clyne over to cover that area and have TAA/Gomez battle it out for RB. I have no idea how Moreno is still at this club.

Right, but he does the latter a lot more than the former. I don't recall any other goal from him and while he can hit a ball well, his crossing isn't usually that accurate either.
His defending has improved enough to be an adequate backup. Nice goal today.

Empahsis on the 'pattern'. A repeated sequence of 1 goal + 1 mistake = okay with me.  ;)

Even with us getting up to a full strength squad still couldn’t be arsed to watch but always nice to hear us win so comfortably.
