Very disappointed about Alisson. Two bad mistakes in two games in a row. That's not promising. Glad to have Mig as an option, honestly.

Not a good game, but good enough. Without Alisson's brainfuck we would have cruised to an easy win.

Yeah Alisson makes one silly mistake after looking 100% assured at the back  so lets bring back Migs. Unless you are being sarcastic please F**k OFF!!!!

Interesting that nobody blames Van Dijk for the horrendous backpass leading to the Alisson error.

      My MOTM.....VvD
Despite a couple of poor passes, Virgil owned the air heading away each and every aerial attempt launched toward the box. No contest.
Allison was in contention until his Brazilian bravado took control for a split second. This self-inflicted gut punch was inevitable....and it was just a question of "when." Hopefully...winning the "worst play of the week" award will humble this guy a bit.
Setting his mistake aside... big saves and seemingly in the right place at the right time.

      More nitpicking:
      Midfield play virtually non existent
Too much ball control by the back line
Liverpool's passing accuracy has much room to improve
What's with the throw ins? For a team that hustles in the press, the opposite can be said for movement during throw ins.

Can't wait for the PSG opener....match of the year as far as I'm concerned. I fully expect an end-to-end rocker

Alissons error wasn’t because of the back pass - the pass may have been wide but it didn’t put him under any enormous pressure , Alisson had plenty of time just to clear it yet decided to try and fool the striker but gor caught out - only one person at fault for the error

4 games 4 wins 1 goal conceded happy days....very happy days. If anyone thinks Allison isn't going to make mistakes they are going to be upset from time to time. We wanted a GK who could pass the ball out quickly and we have one

Last season City literally scraped a win in the last couple of minutes of a game a few times, like against Saints. All teams that win the league will have to grind results out at some stage and ultimately, the 3 points are far more important than the performance.

On a positive spin regarding the goal against us, at least it wasn’t a dropped shot or something that’s a real clanger for a keeper to do. It wasn’t good the goal we conceded but it was a keeper being over confident with his feet, just unfortunate that when a keeper gets tackled like that, more often than not it will result in a goal. In terms of doing his actual job today, it was another solid performance, was confident coming for the ball, couple of decent saves and done everything expected. That mistake was always going to happen, I’m just glad it happened when we were ahead by 2 goals and not against a team that we will be competing with.

Gomez my MOTM .... think Lovren needs putting out to graze tbh.

Chavs need 4 clear goals this afternoon.

Very pleased. First time in 28 years  with a start like this.

Another win, no complains since we have another three points.

      MOTM Gomez and Wijnaldum.

Trent and Alisson need to improve. Alisson need to improve his quickness not shot-stopping because he's brilliant at it. Simple Alisson!

Yeah it was a bad backpass but the mistake is Alissons, he had plenty of time to clear that, I get why he did it, as it would have opened up the field but you have to play a bit more clever sometimes, play the percentages, he'll learn from it.

We're not going to win every game, or play free flowing football in every game, it's just too tough a league for that.

Tompkins has made an interesting point about us putting ourselves under pressure, and I think he's right.

The first and second halves were like night and day in terms of how we played. Some of that is down to Leicester and the positional changes they made, but a lot of it is in our own heads (the players at least).
It's like we didn't know whether to stick or twist, and as a result, got caught between the two, got ourselves in  muddle and couldn't find a way out of it, and get back to dominating possession, with Leicester sensing weakness and pressing us hard.

Having said that, they didn't create much, and that's a good sign.

Very true. Can think of 2 really good chances. Alisson's save from Gray and then Gomez's Carraesque tackle to deny them. Apart from that don't think they threatened. Had some horrible flashbacks to the Southampton match a couple of years back when we completely blew a comfortable 2-0 lead at halftime but should never have. But such fears were unfounded and unjust given that we didn't have calamities like Skrtel and Mignolet on the field when they decided to start a full blown forest fire for 45 minutes. And even when Alisson made his error I was pleased that the rest of the team didn't allow disaster scenarios to creep into their head like previous occasions. Speaks a lot about the improved mentalities that the likes of VVD and others have brought to the side.

A few lads I know used to take the piss out of Rafa "always talking about mentality" but the improvements Klopp has made showed that Rafa was spot on about that aspect of the game.
It's something that isn't talked about often, or enough imo, but we showed enough balls today to grind it out, and to be fair, the same goes for 3 out of 4 games so far this season.
When things aren't going well, little things are going wrong, or as Klopp said, the pitch dries out and keeps us from playing the way we want to, mentality is important.

Another 3 points in the bag, and our best players will soon be finding their form as they get fitter and more in tune with the new lads, but going by some of the comments on here, you'd think we'd lost and been hammered out of sight.

I so enjoy seeing posters who only show up to whinge and never post after a good win.
I'd swear some fuckers want us to lose just so they can log in and whinge.

It's always been a sign of champions to play below your level but still find a way to win all 3 points.

      Let's relish it, everybody.

City would love to have 12 points after 4 games, but they don't and we do.

Great to see Gomez put in another assured performance; he's my MOTM.
