Just had too many players not playing to the level they should be. Everton definitely upset our rhythm and didn't let us settle, pressured us at the back, made it scrappy - but we weren't composed enough to get on the ball and play OUR game.
In saying that Mo had two very good chances though, missed both, and these are the chances close games can hang on. His and Mane's touch was poor. Origi maybe could've done more against Coleman, but did OK - don't think Bob improved things when he came on for him. Front 3's linkup wasn't there.
In the middle, thought we worked hard, but lacked a bit of a spark, maybe some direct, beat-a-man running from someone like Keita, who again for some reason didn't get a run.
TAA's set pieces that had been so good midweek went missing, and even Robbo was overhitting passes. Matip had a few good runs, but VVD got my MOTM again. Keeper had almost nothing to do, few saves you'd expect him to make.
Subs made no difference, and as against Utd thought we actually got a bit scrappier/worse once all changes made and Everton finished the game stronger. Milly never got going, Bob did OK but no noticeable diff in pattern of the game, and Lallana for Mane was odd when looking for a goal.
Now chasing City, maybe that'll focus minds - can't afford to keep drawing games.
Onto the next one...
