Brilliant draw. Not just because we've got Porto who are the weakest left in the competition, but our rivals have horrible ties.
I was hoping for an all English tie, as long as it wasn't us.
I'm made up Tottenham got city. That won't be as straight forward as some people think. Tottenham will have a really good go at them.
I'm also made up united got Barca. Messi and Suarez are going to make their back line look like f**king idiots.
I'm also happy we play the winners of that tie. Personally I'd rather have a go at Barcelona over two legs rather than a one off game in a final. Away goals will prove vital for both teams and I fancy us to do more damage over at their place than them do damage at anfield.
Likewise, but in reverse, I'd rather play Juventus in a one off final rather than over two legs. I think over two legs Juventus could be very strong. So I'm happy to avoid them for now.
Just a brilliant draw. And we deserve it too. I can't help but laugh at all the opposition fans saying it's a fix and how lucky we are
We do deserve it, but you were complaining that we were very lucky with the opposition we faced last year, so maybe it evens itself out. It's the draw I wanted, and it's the kind of opposition we need when our first choice left back is out.
Don't want Juventus at any time. It's difficult enough to face them on the pitch, but all the build up off it would be about 1985. I know we played them on the Road To Istanbul, but some of their fans refuse to draw a line under it, and it makes the level of security around Roma last year look a piece of cake. We really don't need that hassle.
Barcelona have to be knocked out this year. They want to make the final for propaganda purposes. Putting a flag in Madrid is more important to them this year than winning it.
Before the draw, I read all the conspiracy theories about who all the teams would get, and how the draw was so fixed. Not many of us thought we would get Porto, but it's never fixed, it's an open draw with no "weights" or "heating" or "cooling" or any other nonsense, and so we got a good draw.
Should we get past Porto, we're all set up for a fantastic week at Anfield with a European Cup semi midweek followed by the Wolves game at the weekend. Win both and we'll be talking about it forever.
