It was, but it happened because the wall was set up very poorly.

What's a fool proof or at least a better set up? What do you mean by poor? How would you set it up?

Yes in hindsight set up more to Ali's right side. That's because we already know the ball went there. Then he'd knock it the other way. What's your set up?

What can you say. Classic example of one team taking their chances and one team wasting theirs.

Gomez starting was the wrong choice, Bobby should have been on sooner, Keita injured in the first half, Milner/Mane/Bobby and Salah all missing great chances, denied by a good save at the bottom corner, an effort off the knee coming off the bar and falling at the feet of Messi.

We didnā€™t play badly, far from it, a couple of players should be doing better but on the whole the score line flattered them and pretty much everything that could go wrong for us, did go wrong for us.

Canā€™t believe people are actually blaming Alisson for the free kick. You look up the perfect free kick and that was it.

Chances are we arenā€™t coming back from this and the chances are we will be finishing the season empty handed again.

We really are missing that final slice of luck that rewards our season.

Just have to keep our heads up and try to rectify this as best as possible in the remainder of the season.

      Weird, head-F**k of a game.

Couple slight mistakes from VVD imo, a sh*t ton of a luck and worldie freekick.

Got them right where we want ā€˜em.

Keita coming off impacted our play.. we had Barca in our pockets..

We definitely missed that attacking something in midfield, but despite that, we should have scored at least 1 goal and unlucky to have conceded 2 more goals.

      Eh, Sure.

I mean whatever it takes to justify his exclusion till the last ten minutes I guess. ;D

I'm not 'justifying it' just thinking why the boss has went like that.

You really think he wouldn't have started Firmino if he was fully fit?

Its certainly not impossible for us to score 3 against this lot at home but we will have to push our defence further forward leaving us more exposed to counter attacks so hard to see us not conceding.

Roma won the tie last season after being 4-1 down in the first leg.

Still some work to be done this off season. We still canā€™t really deal with the loss of one of our front three against good teams. We need reinforcements.

Imagine starting a game with Dembele on the bench. For all of our ā€œdepthā€ we still arenā€™t quite there yet.

This game is so cruel. We have played as well as anyone in Europe all season and barring miracles we will finish the season trophy-less again. Its moments like this that make me wish I didn't get so invested in this game, but the hope the team gives me each week always makes it worth it.

Today sucks, but the writing is on the wall. Maybe Leicster makes us forget all about this on Monday

Off to bed, feel totally drained after that, feel like Iā€™ve run every yard and kicked every ball with them!
Not giving this up yet, no way, but it ainā€™t going to be easy, but do we ever do anything easy! Can we just wipe that stupid grin off Suarezā€™s face.

Game of fine margins and cool heads.

Mane and Jimmy with easy chances and Salah quite frankly missing what a 10 year old would have put away.

I get he didnā€™t want to start him, but after that first half, he should have come on early in the second half. Gini was useless. Hell Iā€™d have taken Studge or Shaq in that spot.

I'll be honest here , after a optimistic season, I feel like crying that we still won't win a trophy this year. F**k this sh*t. What a f**king shame. We don't f**king deserve this. Heartbreaking this.
Bad enough one of the line and off the post too. Had to score and mane in first half. Barca are like real great at the dark arts of the game

At 1-0 we were the better team and we just missed too many chances. Not clinical enough on the night.
In the end could have been 4 or 5 for them on the break.
But we should have equalised to make it 1-1 and then it's a completely different game.
Once they got the 2nd, they got back into it again - but even then you felt if we could just get 1 F***ing goal, we could have Barca on the ropes.
But the game swung the wrong way..
Mountain to climb, keeping Barca scoreless and getting 4.
Pretty disappointed but even though Barca showed they could dive like little shits to match the best of them, they are seriously sharp in the final 3rd.
It's not over, but it'll have to be possibly the greatest 2nd leg comeback in history.
Our trophy hopes hanging by a thread now, but it's not over till its over...

The one goal is key, we were never close to scoring tonight and I thought Barca had a poor defence!

There was still only a goal in it at half time and we were easily the better side early in the second half so again I can see why he didn't make a quick change especially with a player just coming off an injury.

F**kin hell that was harsh. We played well. Showed plenty of courage and quality. Created at least as much as they did. But they were clinical (plus lucky with their second) and we weren't ( Mo hitting the post from 6 yards summing that up). Messi's free kick was one of the best I've ever seen - unbelievable.

Very hard for us to get through now, obviously, but f**k it - we played a lot better than the scoreline. Go all guns blazing at Anfield. If we are going out let's give them a f**king fright at least, and you never know.

No disgrace in the performance tonight. Robbo MOTM - superb. Honourable mentions to Fab, Matip and Gomez (who did really well considering it was his first start in months). Mo and Mane played well overall, but finishing was off. Everybody else played ok, although Hendo was a bit quiet, and Gini didn't look at home up front.

Just not our night tonight, but we went to the Nou Camp and bossed a lot of the game - not many teams do that. It's a shame the result didn't reflect it, but f**k it we played pretty well. Hopefully we let rip at Anfield and at least give them a scare.
