Against barca, it's all about huff and puff to punish them. We tried to play the game too organize to break them down, that's not gonna happen. Those missed chances probably suggests that we don;t do enough practice on shooting.

I fully agree on the striker issue and if it was me both of them would be off in the summer and a new forward brought in.

On Gini I think I can see what Jürgen was thinking in trying to get a player as close to what Firmino does for us in linking the play.

Origi and Sturridge don't do that.

Plus Gini has played in that position many times for previous clubs.

In hindsight Gomez over TAA was a huge mistake by Klopp and so was Gini as a false 9 for so long.

In hindsight probably Gini up there didn't work, but there's an argument to make for Joe and TAA.
Still, we had enough chances to score a couple, just think it didn't go for us :(

One thing it does highlight one injury to one of our front 3 and we have to play a midfielder up top surely  cannot continue like this

What the saying? - ‘smash and grab’. Sums up Barca tonight.

On another night we bury the chances we had tonight, let’s hope that’s the case next week.

We will definitely sign a striker in the Summer and also Brewster on the bench.

We could and should have scored 3 goals tonight.

We can and will score 3 goals at Anfield.

Matip was pretty solid. Robbo gave the ball away too much for me and didn’t really contribute many of those crosses that have become his trademark.

Don't think anyone really put in any good crosses, corners all seemed to be picked out of air by their keeper, not our night for set pieces.
      Messi on the other hand...

That C**t der stegan saving everything. We deserved a draw at least. Steigen saved three second half shots and then the salah and mane miss ffs.

That c**t is probably up there with De Gea (when on form), Oblak, Ederson and Alisson for me.

I've no doubt we can score 3. The problem is keeping them out especially on the break.

Going to be some night anyway.

Dont think Klopp got anything wrong at all, we were dominating until they got lucky with the second, the third was a worldly from the best footballer in the world ever,(maybe he should sign for City) we had 3 clear cut chances to score and didn't, Mane, Milner, Salah, score any or all of them its a totally different game,
I thought we played well tonight and were every bit as good aa they were if not better, if only we were more clinical

Been down by 3 at half time before haven't we ??

      This tie isn't over !!

      YNWA

I'm quibbling a bit over Gini up front, but basically you are right. We played well and the scoreline is ridiculously harsh. The tie looks over, but yeah it's not over just yet. Time to wheel out the heavy metal at Anfield. Let's just let rip and see what happens.

Thinking about it, I'm no manager but you cannot play a midfielder as a false number 9 in a Champions League semifinal away to Barcelona. I understand Klopp likes a mobile front 3 but I would rather see Origi up there until Bobby came on. For that matter, I'd rather see Studge up there. At least they are strikers and know their way around. How many times has Gini played there for us?

Let's get some pride back and beat them at Anfield. And let's learn from the experience.

Boss was right when he said we'd suffer tonight.

EDIT: Messi was unplayable on times.

Gini was a bit strange. Gomez played well though.

Gomez did what he always does. Similar to what Clyne can do. His use of the ball isn't as good as Trent. The problem was Trent has been showing a disregard to his defending and Klopp didn't trust him.

We only made him work once though, I’ve not seen enough of him to judge but tonight he only really had to get down for the Salah shot, everything else he had to do was straight at him, even the deliveries were straight to him.

I honestly don't see Origi doing much more for us there than we got from Gini.

We had plenty of possession going forward but our attacks were to predictable, not enough invention. The quick direct breakaway was on the cards, slick direct football did for us. 1-0 and we are favourites..2-0..still in with a chance..3-0..hope is all we have.

Take it on the chin:move on.

f**ker'll overhead kick on the way down the stairs. Some free kick I have to say. (Would like to see that foul again though - looked like Lionel fouled Fab more than the other way round.)
