Well Pickford can hold his head up high, the same can't be said of Sancho and Rashford who both tried to be far to clever and cocked it up - manc scum idiots.

Hate the mancs just as much as anyone on here, but tonight both of them are England players, two kids being put in a position to take a penalty with the weight of a whole nation on their shoulders. Piss poor management by a manager who tried to be clever, not the players.

Italy deserved winners, I still maintain it wasn't the tournament of the best quality but they were still the best team. Dominated the teams that let them and dug deep in the last two.

Only a few weeks before the stuff that actually matters starts though!

Spot on but you'll always get the rose tints on some. Henderson ( who also plays for England ) who never played that well when he came off probably only came off for tactical reasons by Ole..... Sorry I mean Southgate.

Astounding. There were numerous critical junctures in that match where Southgate should have acted but failed to. You could say 10-15 minutes into the second half where Italy were dominating possession and England were creating nothing. Did nothing. Then later on when Hendo comes in and implements some control. He could have built on that control by sending Rashford or Sancho on then. Didn't.

And then the penalties. Takes Hendo off who would have taken a penalty. Puts two kids up, with one taking the all important 5th. No Grealish, no Hendo, no Shaw even.

I get he's been given a heroes reception the last week or so but tonight was a string of errors. Up against a top manager like Mancini (as we all know) the contrast was stark.

What made it worse was bringing the subs on so late and never had chance to do a bit of running before obviously having them down as penalty takers. 

Cowardly from Southgate to give Sancho and Rashford 0 minutes and expect them to take the penalties, and then Saka who has had little to no experience in high level pressure situations. Sancho and Saka i believe are just 20 and 19

Then again maybe Sterling and Grealish who are more experienced maybe did not fancy it?

Cant argue based on the second half performance of Italy that sadly Southgate played right into their hands. If Sothgate kept same formation and pressed high again I'm sure we could of got that second goal to kill the game.
