An important piece of silverware... This is just a showpiece for the UEFA fat cats and I hardly think we'll be remembered at the end of the season for winning the Super Cup. I know all trophies can be important but at the risk of losing some of our big names, which we've lost two already, I'd be inclined to concentrate on the domestic cups and Champions League. Yes we risk losing players to injury in league games aswel but that's part and parcel of the domestic season. I'd just rather not risk them from the start in this cup.
Don't know how long you have supported this institution fella but my guess is not very long,
Liverpool FC exists to win trophies always have always will, it don't matter what it is or it's importance,
Fact is it's another piece of silverware and perhaps a little more European prestige added to our already illustrious European history,
It may not mean much to you laddie but it means a damn sight to the club, our players and of course the fans who sacrifice time and effort to go to watch home and away,
I cannot understand why you as a so called fan can be so dismissive of the chance to win trophy that can only be played for by Champions of the two main European competitions,
Its not the community shield, and it's certainly not the Mickey mouse cup,
We have another trophy to compete for later in the year thanks to us winning the CL, are you going to dismiss that too, just incase someone gets injured?
Dunno bout you pal but most LFC fans welcome the opportunity to play in such a unique match, and hopefully win it, cos that's what we do ?
