I watched the highlights of a game against Man U on you tube the other night from 80/81 and then another from around 83/84.
What games of football they were back then !! some fantastic footballers on both sides ;
McQueen, Jordan, Macari, Housten, Robson,Whiteside, Coppell v Souness, Dalglish, Case, Hansen, Ray Kennedy, Rush, Molby.
I had the privilege of going to Anfield to watch a few around that time and they were all amazing games with ear splitting volumes from every corner of the ground.
The tackles went flying in from the first whistle and it was a proper heart pounder of a fixture.. always fair though.
These days it's not quite the same... although I do remember Mark Hughes elbowing Kenny and fracturing his cheekbone in one game
Hasn't been since the likes of the Gerrard and Keane generation locked horns...
Last years game at Anfield was a joke as far as Man U were concerned... Big Van had that lazy fat f**ker Lukaku in his back pocket the whole game..
It will be another joke on Sunday.
The pundits and media can gloss Sundays game up with all the razzamataz they like, playing back footage of Ronaldo, Van Persie, Giggs, Rooney scoring against us but it's all a pipe dream now i'm afraid..
The glory Man U days are over...
This is our year and on Sunday it will be our game.
Looking forward to watching Gary Neville and the likes trying to dissect just how bad Man U actually are during the post match chat
Early goal = Onslaught !!...... head says 3-0, heart says 5-0
