Frustrating. Luckily we did not pay a fortune, although his salary is high. I think it's clear we should find another reliable CM and have Thiago and Keita whenever they are free (injury-free).

Well I was wrong about the lad


When it was all going on about him I thought it was just media sh*te as he didn’t seem to be a Klopp style player and also suffered a number of injuries

So I was surprised when he arrived


When he started last season he seemed to struggle a little with the pace and gave a away a lot of free kicks and then got that bad tackle


When he came back from that you could see glimpses of a player


This season he started well and went about his business nice and quietly but over the last couple of months the man has just exploded


Watching him yesterday and the man’s ability to create space for himself is world class and then when he gets the ball it’s always creating something - the ball to Salah was supreme and the no look pass to Mane even better

He is world class and happy to admit I was wrong about him

As Klopp alluded to keeping this boy ticking is the key absolute quality, his vision and timing when fit are second to none , added to that he won’t shirk a tackle either .

Saw it very early and at times when not used to the team his passes that didn't come off were usually due to him being  in front of everyone else and was exactly what we needed in terms of progressive passing compared to sideways passing certain players offered

Rapidly becoming one of my favourite players in the team.  The drop of the shoulder/feint to change direction is a thing of beauty to create space for himself.

His passing is sublime; the speed with which he reads a situation before he receives the ball is different class & he can put the ball on a sixpence from 40 yards with either foot.

The way he geed the Kop up after the equaliser Saturday, showed his passion & was instrumental in us kicking on.

Every time I see him live (when I'm at the match) I feel like he's the classiest player on show (alongside Big Virg of course!!).  He dictated the pace of the match the last 30 mins on Saturday. 

Our strongest midfield (IMO) is Thiago, Fab & A N other, dependant upon the opposition.

Think if we keep him fit the the next 3 months, we could see some serious silverware this season.

An absolute delight of a footballer.

Still have to pinch myself to believe he plays for us.

Gutted for thiago today. But sums his career here up.  Can break down at any second and totally unreliable.

Such a pity as his ability isn't in question and he gives us things nobody else in our squad can.

There’s a picture of him in the warmup with some sort of dressing on the back of his neck, possibly part of the reason. Surprised there’s been no mention of why he couldn’t play.

Bit strange isn't it, I can see the 'bandage' on the back of his neck, I'm sure we'll find out soon enough.
