Fair enough. But I think jones could be a very good player in a couple of years.
And if we signed another keeper it would be backwards step from Alison imo. There is no one better than him. Certainly none that are available anyway.

I'm more concerned about how we are bossing games in terms of possession yet creating pretty much F all, Alissons blunder (s) wouldn't be spoken about much had we have been 3-0 up.

Pope keeps clean sheets. He might not be a hollywood signing but we need to remember where we came from.

Not long ago we had Karius spilling balls at Bournmouth.

Or Mignolet before him (gosh he was so poor).

Whilst I love Allison I just wouldn't hang around for him to miss his usual 8-10 games a season and now his 3 - 5 errors.

This title "defense" has made us the laughing stock of world football, like it or not.

I thought this feeling had gone for good but it's back.

      It hurts that it's back.

It hurts that we waited so long to win it and couldn't even celebrate. It doesn't even feel real, I'm just being honest. We couldn't even get a parade after all the hurt we went through.

I feel so let down by this team

When De Gea made two mistakes I remember people in here saying "their keeper has gone to pot they want to get rid"

De Gea has been making mistakes on the regular for the last four or five seasons. Alisson near enough has been the best keeper in the world since we signed him. Apples and oranges

and now made too many mistakes for me to keep him.

I think we're too loyal as fans.

When De Gea made two mistakes I remember people in here saying "their keeper has gone to pot they want to get rid"

Yeah but those same fans remember the level of performances their best ever keeper Peter Schmiechel used to put in and De Gea is nowhere close to Schmiechel, but he used to make errors too, do think Ferguson rushed to get rid? Alisson is that type of keeper, he's made a few errors, but compare that to the 49 clean sheets he's kept and the level he's been playing at with our injured centre-backs. So not having VVD and Gomez was always gonna bring back that uncertainty in defence.

De Gea made a mistake at the world cup (or Euros) and he'd made one for united close to the end of their season. Everyone on here was giving it "De Gea is finished that's two mistakes close together keepers rarely recover from that". All that talk.

Now it's our keeper, and I mention it, and they all come running out with their flames and pitch forks screaming off with his head

Well, that was shocking, i was sitting there with my coffee and a cigarette thinking it was wrapped up after the Salah goal and then i was subjected to 6 minutes of madness!

I never ever in my life life thought i would see a worse tackler than Paul Scholes and in comes Thiago. Someone needs to F***ing remind him that this is the Premier League not F***ing La Liga. You don't get the time to do all these F***ing fancy drag backs and step overs in the Premier League, you get F***ing smashed. His tackling is pathetic, it wouldn't be so hard to stomach if there was some aggression and intent in the tackle but it's just a pathetic schoolboy effort every single F***ing time!

It was just brought up that this was Liverpool's 16th different centre back pairing of the Season! That is F***ing shocking. I don't agree with the general consensus that Henderson and Fabinho should be filling the void left by Gomez and van Dijk. We have centre backs that are actual centre backs, regardless of their experience levels they are specialist centre backs, Every day they train and hone their skills as centre backs, they should be being played. This experiment has been a failure, a failure that would have been easier to stomach if we'd actually played centre backs in there. At the very least an understanding would have been built up.

Fabinho and Henderson have been outstanding in midfield and it is clear to see that when they have been deployed at centre back we have been severely exposed from midfield attacks against all opposition. We miss the protection that Fabinho provides the back four, we miss the drive and pressing of Henderson.

We missed an opportunity this Season to push on. We missed a chance to forge our position as the best team in the land. With the injuries to van Dijk and Gomez we had to go out and spend big on a central defender to plug the gap. Are you telling me the money wasn't there after winning the Premier League?

What did our owners do? They gambled on an injury prone Matip staying fit for an entire Season. They let Lovren go (which i was happy to see happen by the way) but did not sign a replacement for the self confessed best defender on the planet. We also let Hoever go, maybe a part of the Jota deal, a mistake either way.  Then when they realised they had fu**ed up they dipped into the bargain bin and brought in 2 last minute signings. Now i am not saying that these defenders will not go on to do great things for us. What i am saying is that these are not the actions of a Club that has just won the League for the first time in 30 years and is looking to build on that success. It should have been 50 to 60 million on a top class centre back, they were available.

I really feel for Klopp at the moment, he has worked miracles for this Club but at some point the owners have to realise that he can't keep pulling rabbits out of the hat, nobody can.

Most of us on here said 2 years ago that this Squad would be exposed if we hit a bad run of injuries. At some point our high intensity game would catch up with us, not a problem when you have a solid strong Squad, we don't have that Squad. Well guess what? We have had that run of injuries and we are looking very exposed.

That is on John Henry and Co.

      Nobody else.

The Champions of England scrambling around in the bargain bin for centre backs they are asking to keep Liverpool at the top. Not fair on us and most certainly not fair on those players.

      Mentality monsters, ;D

Not even close, this team has close to zero confidence at the moment. We were actually playing well until their fortunate equalizer, then fell to pieces.

Also what was the point of replacing Curtis with Ox? That to me changed the whole dynamic.

Final point with an unsettled defence is it clever to persist with a high line???

Klopp looks as if he's done with it, obviously his mother passing away doesn't help, but to have this kind of horrible reversal must sting!
