imo it's not easy job for the recruitment team to bring in alternative player. What if you sign another Ben Davies in again?
If it's true Jude Bellingham is the player JK want, and the club confident he will sign for us next summer or winter window then so be it.

Some more rumours coming out that we may make a bid for Douglas Luiz of Aston Villa. Though there are other interested parties.

Steven Gerrard gave an interview after the game yesterday and said he could leave..

      Thoughts on him joining?

Hmm canā€™t say I know too much about him but at this stage itā€™s not necessarily about upgrading, itā€™s about having options. I know thatā€™s not the ideal approach but when you have 4 injured midfielders, you take what you can get.  This doesnā€™t need to effect what we do next summer or in January. In reality, Ox will probably be out for the season; Milner can do a job but how much longer will he be here; the Keita situation is a strange one, would appear thereā€™s more going on than weā€™re being told. I would say there is likelihood that all 3 wonā€™t be playing here next season.

So I say go for it. The guy has Premier League experience and is available. Iā€™m sure heā€™ll get plenty of minutes here. Its maybe not the way we would normally do things but our hand has surely been forced now with the Hendo injury, on top of Ox, Keita and Thiago.

We could do with a few of those direct corners!

He's a solid, hard-working player by the looks of things. Combative with a bit of skill, i wouldn't be averse to getting him in, he is out of contract next summer so they should be able to do a deal if Klopp likes him. Given Hendo's injury i think they surely have to get another body in midfield, it's a no-brainer for me.

Aye seems to be the case.

Can't say I've ever seen him play. What sort of Midfielder is he?

Let's just say he isn't better than Henderson. He can play as a 6 and an 8 too.

I hate bringing in players from Serie A, it's such a slow paced league. I can't think of too many who make the transition to the EPL quickly. I'd prefer Luiz myself. Wish we'd signed Bissouma, he was a bargain for spuds.

Least it looks like we have someone coming in though.

It's looking more and more to me like we should have tried to sign Haaland. I was hoping somehow he'd flop at City but that's clearly not going to happen.

Probably never got into the conversation once City were involved mate.

Best to back our guy and hope he scores a hatful as well.

I hope he does, but I'll be damned if Haaland doesn't look the business over there. In fact in the highlights I swear he's getting bigger and bigger. He must be about 8 feet tall by now :D

He's looking likely to score 40+ in the league this season. :(

I remember he was highly rated a few years back, but no idea how he's kicked on since joining Juve.  Seems a stop gap -- hopefully its an effective one....

Never seen Arthur play but I guess we are adding bodies now to our midfield to cover this season and sign our ā€œwantedā€ players next summer.

I like the fact that the club is trying something and not risk having the same situation as when all our senior CB were injured.

As for Arthur himself, I suspect the scouting team has done its usual homework. If he can play more than Keita, it's already good enough for me.

Wouldnā€™t take much to play more than Ketia

Iā€™m not sure how a team that came so close to winning the quadruple last season has ended up in the position that the only midfielder we can sign is an out of favour, injury prone one on loan after there being such a big narrative over not having stop gap signings. It just seems so wrongā€¦
