Burnley 0-1 Liverpool: In game and Post Match discussion
      Feb 13, 2022 01:00:27 pm

Turf Moor hosting the Mighty Reds

Starting XI: Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Van Dijk, Robertson, Fabinho, Henderson, Keita, Mane, Salah, Firmino.

Subs: Kelleher, Konate, Thiago, Milner, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Jota, Tsimikas, Diaz, Elliott.

Sadio Mane starts as Liverpool make four changes for today’s Premier League encounter with Burnley.

The forward is restored to the starting line-up after returning to the AXA Training Centre this week following his triumph in the African Cup of Nations with Senegal.

Elsewhere, Mohamed Salah comes back in to the XI at Turf Moor, while Jordan Henderson and Naby Keita are named in midfield.

Thiago Alcantara, Curtis Jones, Luis Diaz and Diogo Jota are the players to make way from Thursday’s win over Leicester City.

WHat worries me about that is jota is on fire and has been rested and bobby and mane have been pretty poor for a while. Hopefully mane is on cloud nine now.
Need a big game from keita today: he could be key to this. He is the link to victory today.

      Bench looks strong at least.

We have so much options fingers crossed that we continue to push City till the end. 2-0 for us.

Would’ve gone Thiago, Elliott and Diaz instead of Keita, Hendo and Bobby but I guess there’s an element of the game vs Inter on Thursday in mind.

He’s not good enough. Not great in the air and too many lapses in concentration.

Mane will be on a massive high after the AFCON win so can see why he’s starting. Bobby not sure though, he was probably our only player that stood out as not having a good game against Leicester IMO.

You need a head check if you can't remember some of his form back in 18-19.

At top form he's the best English defender by a mile. He's outstanding but injury has meant he has fallen down the pecking order. It's really up to him in training whether he sees the challenge of Konate, Matip, VVD and aspires to that.

Nearly four years ago I agree he had real potential.
Injuries can ruin you and I think Gomez has had too many.
      There’s a reason klopp isn’t picking him.

Cos Matip and Virgil are currently better? Doesn’t mean we just have to write him off!
Had crazy bad luck. Just about the worst knee Injury you can get, then has the chance to get a run of games, rips his calf, then covid. Been very unlucky. Can’t be forgotten him and Van dijk together were absolutely unreal. Will he get there again? No idea. It’s a shame

Yes, nearly four years of non stop injuries. I think his chance has gone and he could be off in the summer:
      We will see.

Look at the bench! There’s quality all over. Even those who some of us write off have the capability to give us goals.
