i think Merson made some valid points actually. City are capable of easily winning 9 on the bounce. We have to essentially win another 9 games (after already winning 9 games in a row)

That’s the problem - surely it’s impossible to keep winning every game when you’ve already done 9 in a row.

Then again you wouldn’t put it past Klopp to do it. Insane numbers from both Liverpool and city

Wow, I love this team sooooooooooo much  ;D

What a fabulous result that was, what I love about this team is the way they play for each other, what a great team spirit they have and that's all down to Jürgen.

If a player gets drawn out of position there is always someone to cover, it's great to see, fantastic camaraderie between the players.

Just the one point behind city now, so it really is game on, it ain't over till the fat lady sings  :D

If we start worrying enough, we have the power to make us win 9 in a row and make city lose a game or two. The fear is we don’t worry long and hard enough. So I’ll start worrying now to make the outcome more certain. ;D

If we can keep clean sheets. We have 5 strikers who can win these games for us.

Had Robbo down as motm was F***ing brilliant, but can understand why Matip got it.

And looking at the highlights of the game, as bad as Thiago's pass was, that was more of Van Dijk's fault who was busy flailing his arms around talking to others on the field and was completely unprepared for that pass which he would have easily handled if paying attention.

Have to be honest, I’d pretty much given up on the league after the defeat at Leicester…. Some effort from these boys it really is. They’re a special special group

As soon as this game got over, I started thinking about the game vs Nottingham. If Jürgen can do this "one game at a time" to a supporter, I can imagine how the players are looking at it - complete focus on the job at hand.

And, Robbo's response to that c**t Bernardo Silva's provocation was humility personified. I wouldn't mind Robbo ruffling Silva's head at the Etihad to rekindle some memories. ;)

Mates, we cannot look far, game at a time. We're still second so pressure on who's first.

What a powerful shot from Jota, what a delicate touch from Firmino and Alisson is huge.

Surprised by that sluggish1st half. Not one player really "played". It was all very strange.

2nd half obviously much better, but the front 3 were still struggling but it seems to me that the problem was the midfield. Very little going forward. Notably Diaz hardly seemed to have the ball (no idea what his stats were but that's how it appeared). Mane showed that he was ready to finish if given a good chance (albeit clearly offside). With Salah and Firmino waiting, I expected Jota and a midfielder to be replaced, then Jota goes and smashes in that goal with his first chance and effort! Klopp showed his resolve by subbing him anyway  :lmao:

Despite the underperformance, we never really looked troubled except the ridiculous back pass from Thiago, and every time Martinelli ran at Trent!!

Surprised Jota went off after his goal instead of Mane.

No doubt is was purely for the Firmino switch. He was magnificent when he came on.
