I mean picking and choosing which games you include is one way of getting the stats you want.

Going forward we are still playing ok. Not at our best, but good enough to still be in contention. It is our defending that has cost us.

Oliver spoke to managers why ? Some comments heard ??

I suspect Hendo was giving him a hard time over the Pen and it was getting a bit shirty so he came over to tell the managers to instruct the players to calm down...

But truth is it was Oliver who wrecked the second half, his crap pen decision disrupted the game...feckin' eejit.

It is a clear outlier and greatly skews the results overall and gives a very inaccurate look at how the season has been going. I would include it when taking into account a full season. But with the limited number of games played so far, it makes sense to throw it out as it’s a clear outlier.

And no matter which way I look at it, I can’t figure out what’s going on!
We’re not a sh*t team, we’ve lifted trophies and been to finals ffs.

      We should drop VVD now.

Start fresh with Gomez and Konate, they have pace and hungry for success.

Robertson left back and TAA will need competition from Ramsey.

We also need to drop Salah.

I would go back to the 433 with Fabinho, Keita and Thiago.

Front 3 of Jota Nunez and Firmino (while Diaz is out)

      Goals scored per match:
      2021-22: 2.47
2022-23: 1.57 (not including Bournemouth fluke)

      Goals conceded per match:
      2021-22: 0.68
2022-23: 1.50 (not including Bournemouth fluke)

      Differential:
      2021-22: +1.79 per match
      2022-23: +0.07 per match

That explains why we s‘ck. But what explains the explanation, i.e. why do we score less and concede more? This team is almost the same that won some serious trophys the last 3 years. ???

Most including me thought the line up was a risk. Didn't really work and it was Jota who was the odd man out. He had no clue as to where or what he was supposed to be doing. Worked better with Bobby, at least Bobby does come deep.

Did ok in about 25 minutes first half but it a muddled defensive plan. Conceding the goal on the stroke of half time was poor organisation. Left open to the counter attack after getting back in the game.

Yes Mo was poor again and he is starting to hide. When he gets the ball he always fancies his chances, now he is laying it off a lot more.

Unless Ramsay is ready to go straightaway then Gomez will have to play RB with Trent's injury. I agree about bringing Konate into the fold and it's a toss up who you drop for him. Virgil has taken a lot of the heat in recent weeks and rightly so but Matip has been just as bad and today he was just absolutely awful.

The only feasible way to drop Salah is to go to a back three. Otherwise we're going to need a right winger and the only option is Elliott but he isn't quick. Jota's looked poor when forced to play out right and Firmino has no pace either. The balance of the attack in terms of numbers is a bit wrong and essentially means Salah doesn't have competition for his place.

I'd have a look at Bajcetic once the City game is out of the way as well, might as well use this season to see which of the kids can make the step up into the first team squad.

When Arse turned up the heat our midfield just couldn’t compete.

Not a pretty sight playing with a handicapped midfield.

This mess has been foreseen for a while now.

We might be scoring less than last season but it's still not the biggest concern.

2 at Fulham should win you the game
1 against Palace not great but we had 10 men for a while, the attack was wasteful in the first half though I'll give you that
No shame scoring once at Old Trafford
2 at home to Newcastle should be enough to win and it was
Everton yep we missed some chances but even when we were the best team in the land we found going to Everton tricky
3 at home to Brighton should win you the game
2 at Arsenal should be securing a point at least

In terms of output the attack has probably disappointed a couple of times this season (which you might be able to justify by saying Nunez is settling in anyway) but the defence has looked suspect pretty much every game.

10 points from 8 games . That’s mid low table form no matter how you look at it.
We just going to have to suck it up this season and hope the rebuilding continues with some speed because we look leggy , tired and stressed .

Mate ... keita ... you can't be serious. We've enough issues without that soft as s*it sh*thouse. The answers to midfield are not to be found within the current squad. The likes of keita need shipping out and should have been shipped out long ago.

The likes of fabio and Harvey ... this isn't the time for them. They can't carry our underperforming established players.

We are paying the price for not addressing our problems.

I agree on vvd and salah ... those 2 as well as fabinho, trent and Henderson are where our problems are ... all massively under performing.

Gomez needs to play right back until ramsay is available but for the same reason as Harvey and fabio I'm not sure throwing ramsay in is a good idea. I'd stick with Gomez at RB for now .... dropping vvd would be fine if matip was in form ... try him and konate. But as it is ...... we've got good defenders but they just arnt performing. The midfield if you want to call in that infront of them is rubbish. Teams just pass/walk through us. This doesn't help the defence.

Salah ... no competition for his place. He's going to play.

Wrong choice to go with 2 in the middle today

Poor start , they flooded the right hand side one ball and goal , we then controlled the game , clear penalty , great goal from Núñez , again poor finish to the half getting beaten on the break, poor second half ,Bobby scoring again and then never a penalty for them.
