Started quite well, energetic and good in attack ....then it went flat ! Would have kept Nunez on because he gives us that edge in attack ,midfield just died away didn't it ? that is where we miss the control that Thiago gives us ,Elliott great at attacking and supporting Mo but there was a lack of supply to Nunez ,only Gakpo feeding him scraps ...and then there's the penalty miss

Yes mate, totally agree in the first half then come out second and was surprised Elliot was changed when I thought the issue laid with Trent

Simply not good enough against lowly Bournemouth, Salah misses a penalty as well. Not even bothering to vote for MOTM.

Anyone can miss a penalty and two good chances with their heads, that's just football. But the way their player glided passed Virg, and the overall lack of effort is a concern.

That was our strongest first team aside from Diaz and maybe Thiago. Ok, judging by the lack of creativity in midfield, Thiago should be a shoo-in.

Where was the press, where was the urgency, the closing down?

I know the squad is a bit knacked in terms of age now but Jürgen is hardly a mastermind over his tenure here in terms of the right substitutions. I mean I'm no expert but the last person on that pitch I would have took of would be Nunez, I totally do not get that being a thing today. The coaching of this team is a shambles.

Nunez was muttering and shaking his head, and I can't blame him one bit.

Not sure who should feel more embarrassed, Utd last week or us today. That's how it feels.

Press, urgency, closing down, and energy all failed to get on the bus when the team left Liverpool.  We seem to be forgetting to take that group along to all of our away matches this season, so the mid-week trip to the Bernabeu should be fun....

I can only presume Mo has it in his contract that he can't be subbed.

We had that thing where our only providers in creativity were the two wingers, it worked of course but I think everyone here knew that we also needed extra creativity from the midfield maybe Thiago was the first attempt but it's just been overlooked for years and years that I find it offensive that the skinflints or megabrained recruitment analysis tea sniffers haven't managed a thought or idea to you know buy a couple of creative midfilders whoa look at me an amateur non tea sniffer coming up with an idea that would be useful for our team whoaw, in a way I feel sorry for the strikers or attackers we have because it's like oh want to get a chance on goal well make it yourself then mate see ya.

We need the captain on from the start in games like this. Not least to glue our right flank together. So many people completely underestimate what he gives the team in addition to control of the midfield. I dont care who says Robbo and Virg are ‘captains’ - they’re the first to throw their arms up in the air and give the rest a bollocking when we’re struggling.
There’s more to leadership than that.

We needed a calm head in the mid demanding some movement ahead to break lines. First thing in hostile away games is boss the midfield.
We conceded it so often, so easily.

Lost count of how many times there was no overlap for Robbo when he got forward and no passing or 1-2 options on the edge of the area. Then when someone made a decent run into the box as Cody and Darwin did a few times, the pkayer on the ball chose the keep-possession pass instead - no wonder the forwards stopped making the runs!  And where’s the attitude to get stuck in and win the 2nd balls?
Jürgen’s Midfield selection made Bournemouth’s game easier than it should have been. To their credit, they were better than us today.
Still think we get top 4 but itll be close.

Bournemouth manager just said … “ I was calm, we had them under control really. I didn’t think they’d score”

      Says it all.

Must have been a bit worried when Mo was 12 yards out  with nobody around him with a free shot at goal
