Think Martin's days could be numbered anywho. Imo he's now 4th choice. And Matip is coming in.
Surprised he hasn't given more penoes away over the years tbh
Might be being a bit unfair on him, writing him off today after one ropey perf, given he's coming back from a long layoff - but just think he's been out and hasn't been missed, he's has a good run at the club, and we could make a few bob selling him now as opposed to having to do an Agger in a year or two's time...
See that's it - it's not just 'one' game, it's been time and time and time again. Aside from the odd good game once in a blue moon, he's been absolutely appalling. How many chances is he going to get? If we had cut our losses on him earlier and admitted he was sh*t for the club, today might have been different.
The sad thing is, by keeping him in the Liverpool squad, this kind of performance was inevitable. At his best, he was always living off the work of better players around him. At his worst, he is one of the worst players to have ever put on a Liverpool shirt. Getting absolutely pummelled against the mighty Havant & Waterlooville in his debut has only been proven to be ominous with appalling performances even before today. I'm not even talking about ineffective average performances, but catastrophically bad. In my living memory, that was the worst individual performance I've ever seen from someone in a Liverpool shirt.
I hope he never plays another game for us ever again, primarily because he will never ever be good enough for this club, not even before today, and he certainly is beyond any redemption now.
