The england cricket team need both leavers and remainers today. No doubt it will like watching boris vs the eu and end in a mess

      And it begins.

Surely Roy's last innings in test cricket.

Should be.That was basic stuff.Learn to keep the gate closed when yer 12.We know Test cricket is not his bag so much but that was club cricket defending.

Aussie's targetting off stump.Being pointed out on Sky.And that's the line of attack, even been said on here a few times. Then why were England firing it all over the shop in Aussies first innings.

Theres not a single player in the Aussie team that would have done that.

England fought really well in that session, probably in vain but we have to fight all the way down to the bottom. Their should be an over my dead body attitude from all the batsman now right down to number 11. Leach should be in at 9. If it's not good enough then fair play.

Last thing we want though is to be bowled out before tea and the light to fade at 6 o'clock.

Stretch this out for as long as possible and hope for some help along the way.

Let's face it a new ball under lights isnt going to be pretty, but let's get to that stage first.

I said Stokes was being honest but yes he should at least wait for the decision.

If these two can scramble thru to tea then we could get away with it. But Lyon must get a wicket sooner or later.Bit inconsistent with his line.Gripping session if we can hang on.

      gone..as I was writing..

Looking at the mess Starc makes with his run up England should've gone back to off spin from Ali. He's not a world class spinner but neither is Leach. And Leach is left arm finger spin turning it to leg against the right hander. Ali is also the better bat.

Ali's off spin is a bit inconsistent but Old Trafford gives the off spinner a chance. No real prep by England due to World cup.

It's all right a lot of finger pointing at the world cup being an issue in terms of preparation but the tour in the west indies earlier this way was pretty awful

Australia bowling the Glen McGrath line..top of off.Brings results. And McGrath was very rarely over 85mph. It's OK to have a pace man like Archer but how many wickets will he take. England could've done with Anderson and Ali in this game but still should've bowled better.

If it wasn't for what was really a freak performance by Stokes in the last game a 4-0 might've been the end result.

True and England haven't got the balance right between white and red ball cricket.Been putting a lot of effort into the one day game but there is still massive interest in the Tests.Must be of concern that we don't have top line spinners..it's an aspect of the game that takes a long time to develop. Top line spinners don't just come off the peg, they need serious time to develop.

Still this match is not over till it's over..Stokes showed that..

Was talking to a lad from Cardiff (one of her relations) and I knew he was bowling off spin when he was 16/17 but now turned 18 or so he's took up wrist spin.Nah I said stick to off spin.Turn 25 bowling leggy and you'll hardly improve but stick to off spin and you could get good in your mid twenties.

Only club cricket level but to many fancy trying the more show biz leggy stuff..googly's..etc..

Aussies turning to part time bowlers..trying to induce England to lose a bit of concentration.

      T20 teams love a leggy that's why.

Bairstow out, in live play it looked high. Was surprised to see the umpire give that, can only be guessing.

2 hours from now if it stays cloudy it's too dark for cricket in telling you. Long way to go to get there though.
