I think Serena, along with her long serving sister Venus, have been brilliant for the women's game and sport in general. But yet again she steals the narrative from the victor yesterday with her behaviour. This time calling out the umpire as sexist after he made a call that was consistent with the rulebook along with calling him a their on court. Not the first time she has had form with on court officials - remember her screaming at a defenceless lineswoman a few years back that she would 'shove the ball down your F***ing throat?' Yet again, she actively incites a knowledgeless New York crowd and Osaka's great moment is ruined.
But despite all this, the 'hero' yet again is Serena. 'What a true champ she is', 'Standing up for women all around the world' etc etc tweet her celeb pals. All the while forgetting what an amazing job Osaka did.
Pathetic.
