As I was moving house I missed this. Grew up watching Bob's great teams, the man was a legend. Having to follow Shanks the messiah, not even really wanting the job, but what an achievement. The best thing about Bob was always knowing exactly when to move players along. I often think there is too much sentiment about players today. Bob being Bob the moment it was time for a player to be replaced he would be ruthless didn't matter who it was and rightly. The decision to change Ray Kennedy a striker into midfield was another masterstroke, Bob had the capability of reading a player's ability and getting the best out of him. Likewise the decision to swop Kevin Keegan for King Kenny.
The guy built two great teams who will go down in football history, winning league titles, European Cups, League and F A Cups. We all felt it would last forever.
The biggest tragedy was that at the end Bob didn't even get to remember what he'd done, which is why we as fans must never forget. R.I.P Bob, football's greatest ever manager.
