I saw some St Patrick's Day cards in the shop that other day? What'd the point giving someone a Paddy's Day card? They'll be completely off their tits, and are surely not going to appreciate it! Half my mates would blend it and drink it! ;D

I've got strong family roots to Ireland so Paddy's Day is always a welcome piss up! :D

I guess a lot of scousers have irish roots. Paddys day is always good in town. Last year I went on the ale in town and watched loads of bands. Quality night.

Doubt I'll be out on Monday though.

Can't stand St. Patrick's Day. It's just a drinkfest. I try to avoid it as much as possible. Marched in the parade the last two years for Fairtrade. Going to spend Monday at home under the duvet watching it on telly.

Because if you wave the English flag you are branded some kind of racist.  Pretty sorry state of affairs really.

The festivities were actually started by some ex-pats in Boston in the early 30s. It caught on around the world and back home.

Officially, St. Patrick's Day is over for this year, it was held yesterday (14th) because Monday the 17th is in Holy Week. But because the change of day would confuse tourists, the parades and celebrations are being held on the 17th as usual.

reepicheep are you irish at all, we drink on paddy's day, its just what we do! but no paddy's day is not over, that was just something the church wanted to do, festivities started on friday but tomorrow the 17th is still officially st. patricks day, our national day of alcohol appreciation! theres something to do with snakes as well but that doesnt matter!
