First off we have done our best to narrow down the choices to 5 which has been no easy feat out of the 117 or whatever it is for this season.

Secondly, pretty much every goal Torres scores has been quality.  So before you start having a go at what we haven't included then please rate out of the 5 we have selected and when we had a discussion about the possible nominations we hit about 25 potentials so I'm sure some of us all have special favourites.

I think somebody missed the Riise vs Chelsea goal in the competition.

Gerrard's goal from that distance against Newcastle - amazing. It had my mouth open for about 10 minutes after he scored! Every time i watch the goal it looks more and more unbelievable. Its the distance and the power thats unbelievable.

Gone for Torres v Marsielle, very difficult to choose a single one though! And another thing about this seasons, out of our 119 goals for the season, I'm struggling to remember a tap in!

Torres against Marseille the way he took that goal was incredible when he ran at the defender and turned him then he still had time to see where he wanted to put the ball.Incredible their is nothing he cannot do he can lift it slowly ,chip it, hit it hard with placement, the goal he scored against Tottenham on Sunday had all the similarities to the goals against Chelsea and Marseille but was not in such a big game like the ones above....

Don't get me wrong though, they're all class goals!

ive gone for Gerrard vs Newcastle because it was an absolute stunner reacting to the unexpected and beating the keeper all ends up.

Personally I've gone for Torres first goal - hopefully an era definining moment for the reds -  the look me and my mate gave each other after he put it away.  Priceless.

I've gone for Torres against Marsielle but I reckon his goal against Arsenal in the Quarters was Goal of the Season from any club!

Very tough choice.I've gone with Gerrard's goal.That strike was just brilliant.

Also,I cant understand how Torres' goal against Boro isn't on the list or Babel's flick vs Besiktas(i think) :S

Definetly Nando's first goal against the Chavs. Pure class right from the first touch through to the finish.

Gerrard against Villa on the opening day, have you ever seen a ball dip and curl like that?
Torres against Arse second leg, the way he turned and hit it with such power, wow!
Torres vs Boro away, god he hit that well.
Babel Newcastle away, the team build up and the way he finished it was brilliant.

A tough choice, but have opted for Torres' first goal against Chelsea. There were some great goals there, but this one was more a team move the length of the pitch, plus to beat Cech from that angle alone deserves a vote IMO!

I'd say all of Torres's goals this season.....not many simple tap ins or penalties/free kicks. All class though.

My vote goes to Fernando's first goal against Chel$ki. Started with the wonderful ball from Stevie G, then Fernando's first touch, his explosive pace and the slide across Cech for a wonderful goal, followed by his lovely sliding goal celebration.

I'm the same as JD, looked across at (well there was no one there) but said to myself WOW, we've got a player here.

I voted for Torres goal against Marseille away,there must of been at least 5 defenders around yet he still managed to get through and score.I am glad to see Riises goal against Chelsea was not on the list,mind you if he had scored at the other end it would of been worth a vote.

Aurelio's was beautiful ! I think Babel's goal against Chelski might have been worthy of inclusion too though.

Torres didnt score a boring goal all season so i voted for him v Marseille. He deserves every award this season.

El Zhar's was AWESOME! though, had me in shock.

I've gone for the Torres v Chelsea goal too.  It's not the most spectacular goal of the season but it's the Significance of the goal that counts. It demonstrated to the rest of the Premiership what Torres was capable of.Here we witnessed a striker playing on another level. Breezing past a Chelsea defender and casually slotting past Petr Cech is not a regular premiership occurrence but with Torres it felt like he was playing against a bunch of kids. It was his first for the Club and it was done with such coolness ,I can't forget it. The pass from Gerrard was perfect, outside of the boot and beautifully weighted that slowed just as Torres ran onto it. Then one, two three , the balls in the back of the net.Easy

I've gone for the Torres goal at home against Chelsea.

Firstly I was at the game but mainly because it demonstarted early on just what a brilliant player we had bought.

Hah funny to see I thik that match against Marseille was Kewell's finest this season chipped in with 2assists.

this was seriously too bloody hard, torres V marseille or gerra V the toon. the shear distance gerrard scored from plus the fact he had two players closing him down, just sway it in his favour  for me, and there are great goals not even listed aswell:

Torres V Derby
Torres V Boro ( both games!)

And i don't know if it was the timing, the match itself or whatever but i really loved the Torres goal vs Arsenal. What a beauty that was as well. I missed that one in this poll or at the official club site

I've voted for Stevie's goal against Newcastle, it was a very hard choice as they are all worthy winners, but if I have to choose just one, then it will be that one.
The power and precision of the goal was superb, the way he struck it with two Newcastle defenders crowding in on him was, for me just brilliant, a super strike right in the top left hand corner.

I've voted for Torres v Chelsea a great goal against one of the strongest defences in the world has to be taken into acount.  I hope it's the beginning of yet another great Liverpool striker!

In a season when things havn,t gone great at times we still have a hatfull of special goals to choose from one that is not on the list but a great goal was Babl,s when he dummied the defender think it was against reading sure i will be corrected if not ,a great list cant decide yet .

TORRES STRIKE WINS GOAL OF THE SEASON

Fernando Torres' stunning solo strike in the Stade Velodrome back in December has been voted Liverpool's Goal of the Season.
The Spanish striker has broken record after record during an incredible first season at Anfield - and he's also taken the honour of netting our best goal of the campaign with his mazy run and clinical finish during the Reds' 4-0 rout of Marseille in the Champions League.
 
Thousands of you voted for your favourite strike of the season after watching our twelve contenders - with Torres' memorable goal in the south of France narrowly beating his Anfield debut strike against Chelsea in August.
 
Steven Gerrard's opening day free kick at Aston Villa was beaten into third place while there was also healthy backing for the skipper's thunderous drive against Newcastle and Torres' Pele-esque goal against the Geordies at Anfield.

Not a bad choice I made there.  :

All spectacular goals, but I was gonna go for Aurelio's but went for Gerrards in the end, Torres's goals were spectacular as was El Zhar's it was so hard to choose.

Ive gone for Torres goal against the Chavs, our first home game of the season and his first of many PL league goals. Such a cool precise finish, just a shame we were Robbed of all three points by Rob Styles

Dummied two players? He did that against Derby.

I think you could argue that torres's goal againist derby is a better goal technically, but perhaps the difference in opposition just swayed that one 

im sure it was hard to narrow it down to the 5 best LFC goals this season, but SURELY Torres' goal against Arsenal in the Champs Lge should have been in contention!? :

My favourite goal of the season was ryan babbel when he side stepped and took 2 players out of the game made them look fools I think he will shine next season we have seen glimses this season Torres has been a sensation legend in the making

I think TORRES VS. NEWCASTLE is the best one because it's show that torres has skill and brain,that goal is amazing
