      The New Official Membership Scheme
      Jul 01, 2008 02:57:41 pm
      From .tv

      http://www.liverpoolfc.tv/news/drilldown/N160375080701-1130.htm

The new scheme, which replaces the Official Liverpool Supporters Club (OLSC), will give members greater access to match tickets through the Liverpool Ticket Exchange - a new service exclusively for members to buy seats from season ticket holders who are unable to attend games; a new members card and an exclusive membership pack containing lots of discounts and benefits.

Members will enjoy discounts on all retail purchases across the Club's four stores and online shop, Museum Tours, home reserve team matches and an exclusive Membership Pack.

The new scheme will offer more special offers exclusively to members during the season so there's never been a better time to join.

Throughout the season, one thing remains consistent - the loyalty, heart and support of Liverpool fans. The new membership is a place to share in the passion of Liverpool FC and as a member of the scheme you will receive all the new benefits for just £29 (adults) and £20 (juniors) - inc p&p.

      Help & FAQ's

Will current Fancard holders get to keep their purchase history when joining the new membership scheme?
Yes, all previous Fan Card purchase history will be retained on the new Members Card.

What is the cost of the scheme?
The membership scheme is £29 (inc P&P) and lasts for 12 months from the time of joining.

What benefits will there be with the membership?
To view a list of the membership benefits, click here.

Will there just be one category like with the fan cards or will there be an adult and child membership?
There are two membership schemes for junior and adult members. The adult scheme is £29 (inc P&P) and the junior scheme is £20 (inc P&P).

Will existing fan card holders keep their fan card number or will everyone get a new one?
Existing Fan Card holders will keep their existing card and number. In order to get the new card and enjoy the benefits, Fan Card holders are encouraged to join the membership scheme. The card number will be the same when they join the membership scheme.

Will the new Members Cards look like the new Season Ticket Members Cards or will they look different?
The new Members Cards are the same new design and improved technology as the Season Ticket Members Cards.

If current fan card holders misplace or have their card stolen during next season will you still replace the card?
In the event that your Fan Card is lost or stolen, please let the Ticket Office know immediately in writing. Your Fan Card will then be deactivated and a new Fan Card will be issued for a fee of £10. The data held on your lost or stolen Fan Card will be transferred onto your new Fan Card.

What is the age limit for the junior scheme?
The junior scheme is open to all ages, although the benefits and pack contents are recommended for ages 5-11.

How do I get my retail discount?
To claim your members' 10% discount in LFC stores simply show your membership card and a second form of photo ID. For on-line and mail order purchases you will need to have your membership number available when you order to claim the discount, buy online at http://store.liverpoolfc.tv

I'm buying a gift for someone. What details do you need?
In order for the Members Card to be in the correct name and correspondence to be sent to the correct address, the new member's details must be provided rather than the buyer's contact details.

      ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I was quite happy paying the one off payment of £3.50 and taking the piss out of the Manc and Arsenal supporters having to pay that sort of money just to get a chance of a ticket exchange every season

Seems like a fair deal but I bet you have the same chance as getting a ticket as you did last season!

I may have to get one though as you never know.

As far as I can see, the only real benefit where getting tickets is involved is if season ticket holders wont be able to make a match and notify the club?

Wouldn't they rather sell it to someone they know like a family member or a friend?

Just phoned the club to get an explanation on whether it's more beneficial than the current fancard when buying tickets, and they didn't know!!!!! obviously season ticket and PTS members are first, but then what. ?????  i have fancards for all the family, so don't want to spend £100+ to get 4 bloody DVD's and whatever else and no extra benefit on what really matters, which is watching the game. ??? ??? ???

This is ultra confusing..so if i have history on a fancard where do i stand,do i need to get a membership to retain my fancard history or is my fancard still valid when purchasing tickets?what a mess. :f_steam:

I presume nothing changes where getting tickets are concerned mate - just that with the new membership, you get stuff thrown in and might be able get a season ticket seat for a game (which I reckon will be very unlikely). I could be wrong but with the information given, that's what it seems like.

There's no mention of original fan card holders losing their history on the card. Just if you join the new membership, your history will be transfered onto your new card. So I presume you keep your history?

so 100 sterling for just a few trinkets multiplied by 4.  at least i'll be keeping Ebay busy for a while.  after much thought, i've decided to stick with the fancard and spend the money saved in tickets for games.

It's £29.  I was forced in to it unfortunately.

I got my Pompey ticket through the exchange.  Exchange only counts for Premiership games though.

If you've not got much in the way of credits on your fancard and you've got a spare £30 knocking about then you may as well.

I bought the membership for myself and my Dad, coz he's a tight begger ;D, it's worked out really well so far, the key ring is lovely in all fairness, and that pen has come in handy after an influx of useless little blue pens that wont work even on the most durable of write-able materials.

Certainly getting tickets for home games has been a heck of a lot easier, there's nothing more frustrating when you girlfriends lives 5 minutes away from the ground and you can't get in coz the scunthorpe supporters club are in town.

think it's been a great deal so far if i do say so myself

welllllllll here comes the essay......I live in London and obviously cant get a season ticket so I went for the e-season ticket at first thinkin the ballot thingy sounds like a good idea! A year later have I ever won a ballot???? NO so thats that ticket option out the window! Then I saw the membership scheme and the "online" benefits etc etc...yes i got a shiny keyring, a nice diary, a lovely pen and even a Xmas card and some little badges but tickets...... they are a nightmareeeeeeeeeee to get.  When I tried to use my membership I was told i didn't have the exchange on my account...emailed for help no response!  And the phone sales.... :'( for the first time ever on Wednesday I actually spoke to a human being .... I can't really moan too much for now cos after 2 hours and a few headaches and pounds later i did actually manage to get tickets for the chelsea match....howeverrrrr having all these so call benefits still dont help getting tickets, most the time i find myself tryna get them on general sale along with all them tom dick and harrys that dont even care just fancy a match!!!!! But hey, if you like little soveniers and nice little membership card go for it! However my love for liverpool will never end ;D  >:D

I've had a couple through the ticket exchange.

Redlady mentioned the e-season ticket.  I think there are around 50,000 subscribers to the e-season ticket.

I think you can do the maths there - around a 1:100 chance.

Too many tickets flow to PTS members, shareholders, corporate sponsers, supporters clubs, travel agents and touts.  The average fan is a long way down the pecking order.

I've had more success through the general sale rather than the Ticket Exchange, though usually for games against the so called lesser teams.

I've put my boy on the Season Ticket waiting list hoping he wont have to go through the stress of getting tickets like the many years i've had to.

Hi, im a member of the local liverpool supporters club in South Wales and have only been up once this season to the PSV CL game.Ive been looking on the liverpool website and think im going to buy the £29 membership to help my chances of getting match tickets. All the games ive looked at tho say you need 2 or 4 PL games against your name to apply so how do I go about getting fixtures against my name when this is the case? Any opinions on the membership scheme in general would be very useful

      Thanks

Hi peepz, im quite new to this forum and that - good work guys

I heard of this fancard in previous season but i always just get tickets outside the stadium from keen sellers and now in order to watch big games i want a fancard/membership where my ticket purchase get recorded so i could apply for big games.

but i needed some clarification over the membership, is this a one off fee or would i have to purchase it each season? coz im thinking if its per season then i should wait till july time

      nice one

had this new fancard since the start of season, not once been able to get a ticket through the exchange, the site always seems to be "busy" or no tickets available!

trick is get online when they go onsale about 15 minutes before they go onsale and log on but keep active on it you should be fine

as for the exchange its a case of when and if they come onsale! You have more luck on crappier games than a big match

Menmbership is now back on sale for the 09/10 Season.  Cost is £29 for adult.  so far it is by phone only 0844 499 3000.  i got mine this morning!

not sure why it has not been advertised on the club site.

You say it's on sale for the 09/10 season, but as far as I'm aware the membership lasts 12 months from when you initially register.

Therefore I assume you simply get asked to renew?

I've got a card from last year and it doesn't have 08/09 on it, and it doesn't have an expiry date - so I assume, until told otherwise, that it is still valid?

Sorry, probably not the clearest post.

if you have a membership already, then it is still valid from the date bought for a full 12 months. Then, at that point you can renew it.  my sons doesn't need renewing until April 2010.

However, for those who don't have membership it is now available to purchase over the phone.

from what i understand, anyone who has a fancard does not need to worry.  your fancard is still valid and will continue to be so.  there is no renewel for fancards as they are not issued annualy.  you can still use the fancard when purchasing tickets in the general sale or the online sale.

However, with the PTS membership ending, all PTS members will be moved onto the new membership scheme. plus anyone who buys the new membership, will have the fancard number transferred onto the LFC members card.  This membership card is now supposed to give you more chance of getting tickets.  There will be a allocation of of approx 5000 tickets to members on a first come first serve bases for some games, and 2500 for others.  i don't know if this is based on loyalty from last season. (all matches recorded on your fancard from last season will be transferred to the members card). and i think some games are higher graded than others.

A woman from the club did try and explain it to me, but my son was badgering me at the time, so i didn't follow everything!  you know our club.  if they can make something complicated for the supporters, then they will.

Anyway, in short.  it's 29 big ones for the membership (you have to pay this annually), you are from this season, supposed to get more of a chance of a ticket, you get a pack of stuff, which will be on Ebay the next day.  most importantly though, if you don't want to pay the 29 quid, don't worry, your fancard is still valid and you can still purchase tickets online or on the phone for the general sale.

I spoke to the ticket office this morning to sort my membership and asked the lady what benefits id get from the scheme switching from the Pts and if theres any priority given to members? It sounded to me from what she was saying was that this is more or less a replacement of the Pts and the members would have the opportunity to get tickets before they went on general sale to other fan card holders??Am i right in my understanding of the scheme?or i am i sadly mis guided?who can put this in laymans terms for me?

      I'm confused too.

I've registered and paid for my membership and have ordered, paid for and received my ticket for the Athletico friendly but I've not received a membership card.

I didn't get one last year either but I used the same membership number to register this year.  Is this because I've registered online??

      I've a question regarding memberships.

I and a few mates have memberships but my dad doesn't, he's just got a fancard.

I don't see the point on him getting a membership because we usually get tickets on general sale. Looking at uni coursework and all that i think the only game i can get to in the next month is Fulham at home. If i get 3 tickets, one each for me and my mate and then use one of the other lads membership to get my dad a ticket wil there be any problems getting into the ground? As i've not bought any actual membership tickets yet i don't know if you need to bring your card or if they check it. Because if they do they may well notice that one of the Scottish uni students is actually a ol' bugger from Bootle. Can't be bothered with getting to the ground and having problems. Should i just get on general sale or go for it?

All you get in the post now is a letter of confirmation which you need to present to the steward on the gate, you then need to insert your Membership Card into a card reader at the turn stile. providing you have the 3 confirmation letters and the 3 membership cards you will be OK. my Mate and his Daughter went to the Blackburn game and she used my membership card with no problem.
