What languages would you love to know?

I've heard good reports about those Rosetta Stone language packs. They're not cheap but apparently work very well and help you to get the pronunciations just right.

Have to take something out of my chest, you all know how English is one of my biggest loves, well, there is one English I can't stand, the Aussie one     Just can't stand the accent, they stretch the damn words sooo much, I have many relatives in Australia and whenever I hear them speak it's a torture.

Kate, the deep Aussie accent is a bit much but the casual accent is a lot more pleasant. Listen to Hugh Jackman, or any Aussie with a full set of teeth except our Prime Minister or Nicole Kidman. Have nothing against two successful Aussie woman but their pronunciations aren't right for an Aussie.

I did Italian in primary school (up to 10 years old) and Chinese in year 6 and 7 (up to 12), in hindsight I don't know why they make you learn languages when you should be perfecting English at such a young age but anyway. In high school I did German which is my favorite and something I want to get back into. Maybe next year I will study it. I would like to learn Spanish or Portuguese whatever will help most when it comes to world cup 2014....

Makes your feelings towards the Aussie accent a bit more understandable. We have a lot of deep accents in Sydney depending where your from.

Thanks to this thread, I got back to Spanish, signed up to a course yesterday. There are still some things I need to work on and this place inspired me to do it. The professor is from Spain, so looking forward working on my pronunciation, among other things. Should be fun.

Me and a mate are starting just after the new year on Spanish. Can't wait.

Trying to learn French a little on my own and hopefully from my cousins as they are half French.
