Saw this in the Echo, what lovely ladies.

TODAY the ECHO can unveil the biggest Liverpool fans “bar nun”.

They have never roared on the Kop, waved a banner or sung along to a rousing rendition of You’ll Never Walk Alone.

But Sister Catherine and Sister Nora both do their bit to will their beloved Reds on to victory.

Before every match the nuns park outside Anfield and pray for victory.

Sister Catherine, 65, and Sister Nora, 88, bow their heads and say a decade of the Rosary.

Sister Nora, whose favourite player is skipper Steven Gerrard, said: “I have loved Liverpool all my life. We park up outside the Kop and throw the prayers over the wall.

“We ask God to bless the players and spur them on and for them to be good role models to young people.

“When Liverpool lose we ask ourselves what happened to our prayers that night.

“We stay about half an hour and then listen to the match on the radio or go home and watch it if it is on terrestrial television.”



I do hope Liverpool FC. have read this and give them 2 tickets to see a home match soon.

Thats brilliant i hope this story gets enough attention and the lovely ladies score some tickets i am sure that is not the reason they went to the paper for.

Obviously we'll always hope their prayers are answered where football is concerned but it's true to have hope more kids will look up to footballers these days who are good role models.

Give them nuns a job!!! I dont know but Kaka is always prayin and he does ok. maybe our players need a bit of redirection.

I hope that Rafa has read the article and invites them down to Melwood to meet the players, I can imagine the lads ( in particular the Spanish & S.Americans) being mighty impressed with that. What a PR coup it would be also, for the club to invite these ladies to match day as guests.
