Above Us Only Sky - Liverpool FC's Global Revolution (Book)

I've just read this book from back to front and I thought it was an absolutely fantastic read. This book provides you with plenty of interesting stats in the early chapters about just how far Benitez has actually taken the squad. In the latter chapters it is all about our worldwide support and why OOT's are an important part of the club, but how they may not be accepted because of their lack of knowledge and support. Almost everything said is correct and it makes absolutely anyone, wherever you are from feel like an important part of the club.

Paul Tomkins has done a very good job here and I reccomend it to anyone!

I would like to add though, that the book is now very hard to get hold of because of the current situation with the two yankee tits, as this was written in the wake of their arrival.

      Anyone else read it?

T-Unit - I've not read it since it came out, which was before the Yanks pissed things up.

How does it read in view of what's happened since?

It is obviously outdated mate at a time where everything looked rosey with the Yanks taking over the club so Paul goes into detial on how it could benefit the club on a global basis and it gives you an insight into each of the Yankess backgrounds. It doesnt favour nor slaughter the Yankees as this book was written at a time when they had only just really taken over.

So anyone who plans on reading the book, dont be mistaking it for a book about how the Yankees have left us in a bad state, it's about what good the takeover should have brought and how the club is globalizing in general.

A great read, especially the last few chapters!

Just wanted to post a quick note on this book.

I hope to reprint it in the new year, with an update on the ownership situation, which has changed quite a lot since it was published. The rest of the book holds up well, but I couldn't legislate for what took place after it was released.
