Hello,
This is the first thread that I have started so gie me a break...
Basically, I am looking for support or rather quite a lot of people are looking for support. You may or may not be aware that the first British team to enlist for service in the Great War was Heart of Midlothian FC. They did so at a time when questions were being asked about footballers' loyalty (to country)etc, they also put service before the winning of the league, which they would have done but for the military training and medical injections etc. At the time of the 1914-15 season, the eventual champions Celtic, only put one player forward/volunteer for service.
Anyway, the city council has decided that they would like a tram service! This involves the expenditure of several million pounds that the council does not have! The route of the tramline means that the memorial will be moved to a site which is completely inappropriate. It has stood in the Haymarket area since 1922.
I will try and post a link and 'better' background as to why you should aid my cause...
