It's a sensitive subject this one, and one I wanted to talk about during the season, but didn't know when or where was the time or place.
We all know how poor the defence was last year, Brendan gave Jamie two chances to stay another season, but Jamie refused. So I can only imagine the more experienced defenders dismissing his tv analysis on how they performed in certain games, by saying that at least they put their shoulder to the wheel when called upon.
On the other side, he is a club legend who gave his career to us, and that's something I will always respect. And on a personal level, considering that attending games is more difficult for me than most that go, the fact I was at his first and last home game is another special memory. Given all that, I find it difficult to criticise the decision he made when he did. But given the season we had, it's not wrong to think that if he had stayed on, it could have been the difference between where we finished and where we could have finished.
