Radio City and Radio 5 Commentary on CL Final 2005

If you havent heard the radio commentaries for the cl 2005 then you missing out on reds sporting history. This is absolutely fantastic! Sporting commentary as you have never heard it.

They are brilliant especially the "great" alan green writing us off at h/t and having to eat humble pie at the end.

i taped the game off sky as i was in the ataturk i also bought radio citys cd with their coverage and both commentarys are fantastic and still listen them now.

Not Radio City, Not Radio 5 but TalkSport! with Alvin Martin and Chris Cooper

Tonight I found a minidisc with full commentary and so I have relived the whole experience of that magical night in May 2005, not the Final but the Semi at Anfield v Chelsea. It was an amazing night, no doubt about it and here are some of those special moments of commentary from TalkSport:

Just imagine Chris Cooper getting more excited as he says this: 
"Risse comes forward now, cuts infield to Gerrard, flicks it forward, Baros - Baros over the keeper! Brought down by Peter Chec, was it?
Into the middle, oooh was that over the line? The referee looks, the referee says...
GOAL TO LIVERPOOL inside the opening 3 minutes... Luis Garcia!
Just listen to Anfield now! The place is gonna explode, Liverpool are 87 mins away from Istanbul. Liverpool are in the Champions League Final...
NO WAY Jose! Rafa the gaffa says Turkish delight for Liverpool! Istanbul here they come!
The champions of England have been beaten by the team that could be the Champions of Europe!
The Spanish revolution at Anfield, led by Benitez, the goal from Garcia and 20 years on Liverpool head back to the European cup Final on TalkSport!

Great to hear the commentry.  I can now listen to it and forget the ten years I aged during the final in Istanbul. 

Just a thought RED1028.  TalkSport was still owned by Kelvin the rat MacKenzie in 2005.  Please don't promote it.

Point taken, I totally understand your sentiments and was unaware of that fact in all honesty. I feel like a bit of a w**ker now really. Unfortunately I was not in Liverpool that evening because if I was, without any shadow of doubt, I would have been in town somewhere (as I was this year after a 6hr drive up from London). I would have taped Radio City's commentary and watched the match with a sea of Reds but you live and learn. The commentary itself was legendary.

You might have all been too young to remember or perhaps not even born but I have discovered footage of a vintage Wembley Cup Final from 1933 featuring Liverpool V Aresnal.

Look !!! I'm sh*te on computers I dont know how to post all the things you guys can, from "you Tube " etc. But for the best champions League Docu, just type "Sean Connery LFC chamions League" into the little box, and you will get one of the best 2.20 mins of your life, if you havent seen it before, I guarantee you will cry, just like I still do whenever I watch it.

The commentary on City is used throughout the 15 Minutes That Shook The World DVD. Always get a bit choked when I hear Aldo cos you can just hear the passion in his voice.
