Game conspiracies that were just not true!
      May 01, 2009 06:46:23 pm
There's plenty of them that went round, especially when I was younger. Tell us about the rumours you fell for, and were obviously disappointed to find they were not true!

      For example:

'There's a way of seeing Lara Croft (Tomb Raider) in the shower naked'. - No.

My mate also said that there was a conspiracy that went round his school that on one of the old Pokemon games on Gameboy you could recieve 3 bonus characters if you let your character wait by a river for 24 hours :lmao: He did it, and obviously it was not true.

This thread could also be a way of finding out whether any of those gaming conspiracies were untrue or in fact true, hopefully some people will have the answers!

"Resident Evil 3 would have a fully interactive environment."

BOLLOCKS! Capcom fu**ed that one right up, and all we ended up getting was a few barrels and dynamite boxes to blow up.

      Buggering buggertash.

Oh and don't get me started on GTA San Andreas! There were even big articles in game magazines where they would attempt to prove or disprove theories given by people.

Very true, I'm sure there were also rumours of a Duke Nukem film too, and that never happened.

The Tomb Raider ones were hilarious. Christ knows why people were so obsessed with seeing her tits.

One mate rang me up quoting some Gamemaster article he was reading saying that if you tap some code in on Tekken 3 then you'll receive a brand new character called, and I quote the phonetic pronunciation he said on the phone, Ett Voylar.

When quizzed on whether it was spelt Et Voila, and then telling him that it was a French saying, he just went quiet and started backtracking, the tit.

One rumour I'm happy was confirmed is a Metal Gear Solid film!

It's been going since Metal Gear Solid on the PS One and has been confirmed a while back!

Few rumours knocking about regarding what's happening with it but Christian Bale has added interest on playing Solid Snake.

Then call me Christ. They're massive, that's bound to get some people pitching a trouser tent.

Not me, though. I prefer inflatable women.

The game practically is a film. It's like 8 hours of cut-scene and 2 hours gameplay.
