When he's wheeling around the pitch and Henderson is chasing him. F***ing loved it.

Think he's saying that Glen was looking away from the ball when it brushed his hand. That's the way it looked to me as well. If Clatterbung had given a penalty for that I think it would have been extremely harsh.

I agree it would have been harsh, but handling the ball at the Stretford end in the penalty area, more often than not means a penalty no matter what.... as we have seen numerous times over the last 20 odd years.

Hopefully this is further evidence that the "Fergie fear factor" has finally gone.... if being awarded 3 penalties at Old Trafford wasn't enough proof.

His face when he's posed with the schoolyard philosophy questions about a tree falling in the woods making a noise, is even better. I think it's on this site somewhere.

Stepped it up big style at the weekend, just needs to find the consistency and play at that level week in, week out.

I'm starting to think it's just his natural face, or are we just so used to seeing it because we keep destroying everyone that's put in front of us? ;)

When was he challenged, to be justified as a good performance? He had the freedom of Manchester to run on his side in attack and the only time he was really challenged, he and Jordan messed up for Shrek to set up the header for RVP.

Not a jib at him, but he didn't have anything to do all game except once.

Nothing against the lad as he's been a great RWB for us and we've missed him since he's been out. BUT he is not the same player he was pace and fitness wise as he's getting older. I think he's probably looking to go out on a  high so maybe that's why there's been no talks of him getting a new deal.
I would keep him and just let his deal run out as I think we need experience at the back but bring in competition

Part of the reason neither Jonno or young Flanagan were troubled on Sunday was because they were both spot on positionally. Neither really allowed their wide men to get turned or to get on the front foot because they played so tight. I thought both of our full backs were excellent.

On the whole Jonno looks like he is gradually rediscovering his form now that he is physically in a position to do so and I much prefer our balance with Jonno playing his naturally right side and young Flanno strangely enough having all of his best games over on the left it seems (see Everton, Spurs and United)

I've always been a fan of Johnson and I really hope we tie him up to a new deal in the summer.

That's how I read it too Scott. Most times good defending will go unnoticed if all we are looking for is that 'crunching'/'saving' tackle, last ditch block or clearing header. I think Sunday saw us at our defensive best as a team (all season).

Johnson was great today. Brilliant run to setup the first goal and also was strong to set up Sturridge's with that 60 yard bomb. Being out and getting fit have worked very well for him and us.

Could well do mate you're right. Was heartening to see him back near his best today, I noticed someone suggest it was him playing for a new contract but I don't buy into that too much. I'd like to believe it was injury keeping him below the levels we're used to and, as you say, we can now reap the rewards of a resurgent Johnson.

Huge game from him today. Unfortunately he let himself down a bit with their 3rd but he more than made up for that with his excellent general play.

The full backs pushed a wee bit too forward today, which did lead to exposure - particularly the second goal.

Against better opposition, we would have been a bit more pragmatic on the defensive side of things (like last week at Old Trafford) but in the end, Johnson in particular, offered crucial attacking threat.

The first 2 goals came from the left hand side through Agger and Flanagan not being close enough together so no blame can be put on Johnson's shoulders for those. On the 3rd goal Johnson could have made an effort to win the header but again, Agger was completely in no man's land!

Outstanding in an attacking and pressing sense today.

His ball for the 5th goal was sublime - I'm not sure there are 10 players in the league (in any position) with the ability to hit that ball off their wrong foot.

Delighted he's getting back - will confess I thought his legs had gone pre/post Christmas - looks like a thoroughbred again.

      Good man Glen
