Think it does as well as I sure there can't be no more than two teams from any one continent in the same group.

Eight groups of four I believe and England will be seeded.

Breaking news on SSN, Ireland have asked FIFA could they be included in the World Cup draw as an extra 33rd team after what happened to them in the play-offs.

Fifa's Sepp Blatter has revealed the Republic of Ireland have requested a spot in the 2010 World Cup finals as an extra team after their play-off defeat.

The Republic lost to an extra-time goal against France when Thierry Henry handled the ball during the build-up.

"I will bring it to the attention of the Executive Committee," said Blatter.

The president of football's world governing body added that goal-line technology and extra referees would be considered for the South Africa finals.

Can't believe the paddies are asking for a place, just saw it on Sky. I mean a replay, anything like that would be ok. But a 33rd team at the world cup? Are they F***ing retarded? Who is to say that IF that goal had been disallowed by the ref, that France wouldn't have gone on to score one anyways? They seem to think that the game was a foregone conclusion but for that goal. It is never safe at 1-0!

They wont get Ireland anyways our claim to be the 33rd team was rejected earlier today.

I fancy Argies if they get their act together but i think Spain will do it or Brazil.

I'm wondering why we(Holland) are seeded in the 2nd group when we won our group without losing a single game and are listed as 3rd in the FIFA world ranking.  Not saying we're 3rd best country, cause we're not. I'm just wondering, what the hell did they base this draw on? Why would France be seeded in the 1st group and we're not? Ahh well.

Its done on previous 5 years or so record I think anyway from an England perspective it doesnt matter.

We will qualify for the 2nd round, win that then get beat in the quarter finals against the first decent team we play.

Group C is awesome.. I am either going to be pitied or hated this summer. If England beat the US then I get toasted all over the forum, If the US wins, then its either luck or flat out poor English play.

I think the England/ US game can turn out to be a good match...Naturally the odds makers will go towards England, but I think the US can surprise them. The US squad is not the same as previous World Cups, they have a lot of youth and solid players. Some of the US keepers are the best in the world.

Honest opinion, I would bet England, but we all know that upsets happen and England doesn't always seem to show up for the World Cup. SO who knows.

I cant wait for the match, I think a US win against England and an advance out of the group stage can finally give us some credit. Which I think is due and deserved.

Normally, being Yank I would say your nuts. But our last showing in the Cup didn't exactly rock the World. However, I think the Confed cup gave then some much deserved confidence and they played the best game of their lives against the #2 in the World in Brazil. Unfortuneatly its hard to ride that momentum into the World Cup after a year...So, we'll see.

I just hope they make it out of the group stage, win 1-2 in the following stage and get some respect.  No offense but a win against England would be huge and would certainly put them in position to advance. I hope its not a thing where we beat the good teams and lose to the weak ones.

The US have good, young players, with European experience and have progressed.  The Americans coming up now are the ones who were trained during the big upswing to redo the US team program and training. These guys had fantastic youth programs and academies. They had plenty of sponsor money and training.  Now we'll see if it paid off. To bad we have to expose the world to that asshole Landon Donovan..ugghh..What a douchebag!  i cant stand him.

Instead they (BBC) screened a documentary for Irish fans called 'Out Of Africa'. Apparently it was a special on the life of a Cheetah.

In my opinion, I think this is a very even group apart from Germany, but why wouldn't we be able to beat Ghana or Serbia. Serbia are one place ahead of us in the Fifa rankings and Ghana are behind us.

Anyway, i'll be looking forward to it.

I dont know about that.  I'm an American and I dont know.  I  think if the US can come out early control the fiirst half, Smart play, good passing and play the 'Trap" than the US can make a match of it. We have 31 players with European experience, 6 with CL experience, 16 on UK teams.

If England  can get it in center, play it deep then I think the England front is faster, better passing and can create more shots on goal.  If Beasley, Donovan, Altidore, Dempsey and a good showing by Tim Howard we can certainly take it to the English.  I am really looking forward to it.  I think this team has  a good amount of EPL play, and understand how to play the English game.  Since the last WC our boys didn't have the talent to be a success in playing EPL level football. But thats changed.

So Well see.

I'm also American, and Beasley won't feature in this squad, I don't care if hes back in good grace at Rangers. I can't see him cracking it mate. I think Holden finds a way into the first 11, as well as Feilhaber.

Dolo and Spector HAVE to be the outside backs for this team, if Bradley continues to play Bornstein we are in for trouble from England, Slovenia and Algeria too.

Without Davies we need to have Altidore up top alone really, with Dempsey and Landon both playing a more advanced roll. I only really want Bradley on the pitch, without Clark.. if they both are out there then I would start Holden over Benny.

Howard always gives us a chance in the back.

USA would take 1 point from England and move on. Slovenia and Algeria are much bigger matches for us, as strange as it sounds. We need 3 points from both of those games, badly.
