Who is really the boss of Liverpool: Gerrard or Rafa?

I'm curious to know what people think. After all, how many times in the past has Gerrard dug deep and pulled us out of the dire. Would Rafa still be in a job, if it wasn't for the endless man of the match performances of Gerrard?

There is give and take in the relationship IMO.

Rafa owes Gerrard, Gerrard owes Rafa.

Rafa is the boss, Gerrard can be dropped by Rafa, not the other way around.

also Rafa can be sent off, but still impact the next game, Stevie couldnt

Rafa has also turned Stevie into the match winner that he is. I don't know the exact figures but he has scored more and generally become a better player with Rafa at the helm. Not that I doubt he wouldn't of turned into the player he is without Rafa at the helm.

And without Stevie, we would of had a lot less to cheer in recent years.

I think he averaged 6 goals a season before Rafa came along. Now I think its about 20.

IMHO opinion if gerrard was not around we will not have been able to win the ucl in 2005. Rafa would have been sacked by now if he had not started his liverpool career in such a way.

Somehow I feel Stevie might feel a little unappreciated by Rafa,  Rafa turns around and says Stevie was good but can do better when he's had an absolute blinder of a game. Maybe being called good rather than excellent can affect your form?

id be pissed too. Must be heartbraking to no your the best player in the world and you haven't won the league yet. You look around and you've got Traore playing left back and Erik Meijer upfront.

No player is bigger than LFC and our future at the end of the day lies in Rafas hands, not Steven Gerrards.

Actually I have a valid question to ask if Gerrard had gone to Chelsea way back when, where would we be now? I certainly don't think we'd be in a better position that we are now, and I certainly don't think we would have came second last year either...

Don't get me wrong i absolutely love stevie and i was so made up when he chose to stay, but have this for an example - would Everton be better off now if they hadn't have sold rooney and kept him? Would they F**k, they would have gone down years ago. It was the rooney sale that kept them alive and has actually turned them into the side they are today.

There is no better midfielder than steven gerrard in the world, but you could argue the fact that rooney is the best striker in the world too. We may have got 50m for him and then bought 3 or 4 other world class stars. Im not actually stating this is what i wanted or what the club should have done, im just arguing the other side of the story.

What I'm getting at is that he is a hue influence to this team. If he was to ever leave... it would have massive implaications on the club. Just my opinion though.

I disagree because legends have played for the club before and have either retired or moved on. We still coped. It would be down to Rafa to find other legends in the making.

I do love stevie though just as much as anyone and I hope hes got another 6-8 years in him yet.
