Just think he derserves a chance in the first team, he has got to learn to be adaptable. Seen him on video with reserves he looked very sharp. sure he has been in the doghouse. But with little to play for its time he got in the thick of things again.

His play with the first team this year is precisely why he isn't in the first team. He's been very poor whenever he isn't playing with the reserves.

Too good for ressie level, not good enough yet for first team level.

Id send him out on loan for the year next year and hope he develops for the season after..

Also needs to learn some discipline and not keep getting dragged out of position.

Odd to say this, but he could learn a bit from Hendo.

Not odd at all, think a combination of Hendo and Jonjo (taking the positives from each of course) would be a lethal player.

Probably get a lot of stick for this but I thought he did allright when he came on.

Always looked to play the ball forward and had bit to his game. Should really have equalised but sh*t happens.

Still think this lad should be ahead of Henderson has more technical abillity in one toe then Jordan in his whole body.

I thought he was rubbish, truth be told.

No composure, rash, and a liability.

For me, he needs to go on loan to a West Brom. Do well there and maximise the amount of money we get for him.

Think he's a good player. Just not good enough for a Top 4 (aspiring) team

Agree that he played well when he came on, without being brilliant. He looked up for it an interested, which he doesn't always seem. Still think Hendo is a lot more consistent...forever an advocate of young Hendo.

He came on and was a danger to chelsea, just needs a bit more composure in front of goal, always seems to be in a rush and therefore misses easy opportunities.

Overall though he made a positive contribution.

Thought he done well when he came on, marked improvement on his recent performances in the team! Harsh yellow card IMO, was his first foul of the game and Oscar waited about 2 seconds before he jumped up in the air as if he'd had his leg broken!

      Needs a good loan.

Has the raw talent, just not an ounce of consistency.

More importantly, a good performance. Almost lost his head again though, can't forget.

he needs a run in the first team...a proper consistent run into the new season and I fear he is not going to get it cos rodgers doesnt appear to have any faith in him...when he came on against chelsea he missed a sitter but really had an impact on the game because of his ability to get himself into threatening positions. I think he has natural raw talent and the capability of being a top player....he is also bigger and stronger than most of our other midfield options.    Rodgers tried to sell Henderson to Fulham at the beginning of the season....Henderson has proved the manager wrong in the second half of the season with some outstanding performances.....I only hope Shelvey is given a chance to show his ability because I am convinced he will be a quality player in a premiership team. I hope it is Liverpool.

I predicted this boy would be a top top player. Then I had some doubts about his mentallity but he proved me wrong there when I heard he asked the boss to use him in a holding role for the 21s to help develop his game.

If this boy decides he wants to be as good as he can be we have one serious player.

However where he actually fits in? Centre mid? Holding mid? Attacking mid? Play as an old school 10?
