I wonder why when someone tackles him, he lays on the ground and twitches?

Don't know but he spends so much time down he will need Viagra to get back up as of next season.

I think Robben is out. The dutch football organisation are making a public statement tomorrow about the results of today's tests. I think they wouldn't make such a big issue out of it if the results were good, but I hope I'm wrong.

I was wrong, Robben could be back in a week or maybe a bit longer, but he isn't out.

That's the thing with the world cup mate, for the 2 weeks before it, the media class every player who has a slight knock as already ruled out the world cup. They do this so that people tune in to see how bad the injuries are. For e.g, the Drogba incident was made out to sound like he may never play again when I forst heard it but now it looks like he won't even miss any of it.

      So annoying isn't it.

Robben thought he was out himself. He thought he tore his hamstring. And he did, but the tear is miniscule. Even then normally it takes 5-6 weeks with rest, but apparently he believes some sort of special treatment can get it fixed in a week. Even Van Marwijk thought he was out, I've seen him say it after the game. Can't really blame the media here. And in my country everybody was already watching the game in the first place. Maybe english media is like that, but not here, most aren't very sensationalist.

Sorry mate, I was talking about the british media who are so dramatic over everything and when I heard the Robben story I didn't believe it because the way Sly Sports were talking about the Drogba injury was like he would never play again.

I didn't hear the Dutch coverage of it so I only have the British side to comment on and they're mostly ass-holes anyway.

I bet you're glad he will probably be fit for the finals then.

No worries. One of the first things I discovered when coming on this site and reading the english articles is how bad your media coverage is, the bullshit and gossip % is much higher there than here.

I am glad yeah. Robben can be an ass, but it's safe to say that if we even want to have a slight chance of winning it then we'll need him.

He has to wear a sling, doesn't he?

I had a dislocated elbow back when I was 14 and it took me a month to actually start playing again.

Brad Jones pulls out of Australia squad. His 4 year old son diagnosed with Leukemia :(

Galekovic will almost certainly come in now.

Wrap it up immensely. Makes it like a huge club, but he has to be soft. Atleast that's how I played on a broken arm when I was 14.

I still put money on Portugal getting bast the group stage. Brazil and Cote D'Ivoire will be pretty much domnant. Portugal are so light weight.

One for the Brazilians, do you know what your backline will look like? Maicon or Alves, or both?

Both are quality. I would pick Alves. Dunga picks Maicon. :-\

Maicon is the best right back in the world to me. Alves can play on the left too though I think?

btw Robben is flying to SA tomorrow, joining the dutch squad. Can't see him play monday yet though.

Maicon will be the right back, no doubt about that. But maybe Alves could be in the team too.

The left back is still the biggest question, other than that we pretty much know what to expect (for the 1st game at least). I think it's gonna be Michel Bastos, but it could be Alves too.

What a lot of people seem to want now (and something I've been asking for ages) is Alves to play in the midfield, instead of Elano. Even the Brazilian most famous commentator was raving about how Maicon and Daniel Alves look great together on the right side, in our last friendly before the World Cup. I dont think Dunga would make such a change for the 1st game but depending on Elano's performance (and how Alves does when he comes in), I could see him becoming a starter during the competition.
